Must say Designers studio is one of the best series on here, lots of interesting stories and perspectives.
What that guy said. Designer’s Studio is my personal favourite series. As a backer the 15mm KS, I think the sculpts I’ve been seeing in Andy’s updates are fantastic. They have an amount of detail and character that would put some 28mm historical ranges to shame. Very much looking forward to getting me stuff 🙂 With sculptors in particular, I think it’d be interesting to delve into things like their influences, their style, other sculptors whose work they admire, etc. I do think as an industry, wargaming is still a bit backward in terms giving sculptors the credit they deserve.… Read more »
Fully agree, some ranges from both big players and smaller ones can be rather disjoined since they been sculpted by which ever hired hand where available at the time. But on the other hand the companies driven by a sculptor like West Wind or Black Scorpion for instance the complete range seem (even) better than the sum of it’s parts.
I agree too. Sculptors should receive more credit for their work. The thing that brought me to try some games I play was the quality of the sculpts. The miniatures are the first representation of the universe in which the game is set and the sculptors have all that pressure on them.
Thanks to all the sculptors out there who make miniatures I enjoy painting and playing with.
Superb series, really nice to see the faces behind the minis and games we all love.
Woot, Andy. Secrets of the Third Reich KS soon?
Great format, a trip down memory lane and finish with a teaser for the future.
Got to ask Warren. What is that in your pocket ?
Yeah I noticed that too. He’s packing his own pachyderm.
It’s wrapped in tin foil you know 😉
Tin foil is not proper protection
Ow.
I really like this series. Keep it up guys.
Thanks, i love this series.
