Defiance Games Unbox Some Deadly Alien Bugs
June 26, 2012 by brennon
Defiance Games recently unboxed their Alien Bugs for the Alien War miniatures range. So check out their video above as they delve into this gribbly package...
Some pretty cool looking bugs and you get 30 of them in the box! If you ever wanted to recreate the world of Starship Troopers on the tabletop then its now a distinct possibility.
Don't forget the rules are still available to download for free here.
What do you make of these Aliens?
In all their simplicity, they’re quite nice. I could see them used as Tyranids or bugs in Starship Troopers, as well as the bugs they were intended in Alien War. They also seems to work quite well in smaller scales. Actually pretty much bang on for Starship Troopers or Gruntz in 15mm scale.
Starship Troopers is what came to me at first seeing them.
These give some interesting options both as way they were intented and as proxys.
I must say that I’m very impressed with the look of the bugs. It totally reminds me of the movie Starship Troopers, but the best part is the ability to have them assembled as you wish. When kits are flexible in the pose you wish it just opens the door for more of the same model without worry about them looking like doubles.
Can’t see too clearly due to no autofocus in vid, but these look decent I think, and put together with 15mm humans they’ll serve well as large arachnids.
The team behind defiance used to run Wargames Factory so I will wait and see if they can deliver this time and not just make empty promises not impressed by the change to resin as so many of the other manufacturers are doing.
Really, so these are the guys who got the boot after the unpleasantness?
Well, they managed to deliver on the UAMC boxes! Got mine and I realy love the kit! 🙂
I, personally, have high hopes on Defiance Games…
Looking forward to seeing germans and seeing if I can pick up some of these bugs….I have SST and these plus AT43 UNA would be cool for a game
