Deep-Cut Mats Bring the Darkness of Space to the Table
November 11, 2013 by dracs
In space, no one can hear you game. Which is a shame as there are a lot of great games of ship based combat which take place in the void. Now you can bring that void to the tabletop with Deep-Cut Studio's gaming mats.
These mats were designed by Deep-Cut with the game of X-Wing in mind. X-Wing has been growing steadily in popularity and having some cool space mats to play it upon will add to the atmosphere and general style of the game. You know, rather than having Luke Skywalker and co. flying across the bare wood of the kitchen table.
These three mats will be released on the 23rd of November. Are you going to order one?

In space it’s a bugger trying to roll dice
Actually, rolling them could be easy, getting them to stop might be the tricky part.
I already have a space mat… but I’d really like an “aerial photo” one for air games and a seascape for naval games.
These look great. I’m just starting with X-wing and was wondering if this isn’t to big for a game of 100 points?
3×3′ is the ‘recommended’ area.
You could either wait until you get more points or just start further in from the edge
Or maybe I can use wooden rulers to mark the 3×3′ area…?
or paint a 3×3′ board.
The mats look great but to me I would rather drop 20 odd quid on a board game right now lol
or at least it will go a substantial way towards one
