DeadZone Terrain Gets a Pledge Level of Its Very Own
May 8, 2013 by dracs
It's exciting times for fans of DeadZone. We have already had our first looks at some of the awesome terrain that will be appearing for the game and now you have the chance to get your mits on it, with new pledge options!
Here's what Mantic have to say of these new pledges:
We have now added 2 pledge options that allow you to go just for the scenery - so if you love the scenery but are playing a different game right now you can add just the buildings.
- The One-click Urban Battlefield ($100) will give roughly 4 buildings of various sizes to use in a normal wargame.
- The One-click Urban Wargames ($285) will give you enough tiles, connectors and accessory sprues to generously cover a 6 x 4 gaming table with a wide selection of fantastic urban terrain.
For backers of the Deadzone game itself there is more great news, you can now add a buildings upgrade to your pledge!
This is great as, from what we have seen of these BattleZone pieces, they are rather good quality terrain pieces, perfect for use in any sci-fi game as well as DeadZone. This is good for those who might not be interested in playing DeadZone, but still want some awesome terrain pieces for their board.
According to the Kickstarter page, more BattleZone terrain pieces will be developed throughout the Kickstarter (the first they are trying to fund being the BattleZone Landing Pad). Each of these BattleZone set will have its own theme and style, allowing for greater customisation options and settings.
Are you guys going to get in on these pledges on the Kickstarter?

Already have my 150 there. Sam can you please tell me when are you gonna upload the Dreadball Academy video ? I can’t wait!
Yeah, i got the battlefield, there are still a few earlybirds left.
And sam, i just bought BD, so i could do with that vid 🙂
Im in…….
I was waiting for the terrain pledge level but they priced it well out of my budget and scope. I was hoping for a two-building $45ish pledge level.
dais, they’ve added another cheaper level

Thank you for the update @emperorpenguin . Now I have to decide if I can afford to spend. At least I have three weeks to work it out.
Good stuff. I’m tempted to throw another $50 at the small add-on, though it might be worth waiting to see how much the initial $140’s worth covers. It’s only a 2×2 board after all.
Well, I’m jumping in! The scenery was one of the main reasons I was interested in DeadZone. I’m sure the actual deadzone game will be great too, but that customizable sci-fi scenery… Oh yes!
Mantic’s first $1million kickstarter? Dare I say, yes!
As I said at the start, it reminds me so much of necromunda, and that terrain highlights that very, very well, the pics even look like something out of the necromunda box. Ironic at a time GW are removing necromunda from its product line.
I’ll be buying this when it comes out in the shops, kickstarters get a better deal , absolutely, but I like having shops I can buy things from all the time, and I feel its important to support them.
nogginthenog, go into your fav store, suggest they buy a store kickstarter pack, and put you down as a pre-order for it,
you can potentially get some of the bonus stuff through them that way, and support them at the same time.
There is a DeadZone Retailer pledge level @ 500 that gives them a great deal.
Think I will wait til these hit the shops. Awful lot of money that really offers nothing so far as with most KS
I never played necromunda i just never really liked the styling but i quite liked the concept so this is perfect. Love the styling like the look of the alpha rules. As for taking the plunge on kick starter well. we’ll see come pay day.
If anybody is interested in this game, the kickstarter is the way to go, there has already been so much free stuff unlocked and more to come. Fantastic value for money. It is just shy of 50minis at the $150 level… $3 a mini and we haven’t even factored in the terrain, the mat, art cards, Rulebook, etc. fantastic deal!!
