Is DeadZone The Next Stop For Mantic’s Warpath?
April 6, 2013 by brennon
If you were interested in Mantic Games' Project Pandora that introduced the scheming Veer-Myn to the world of Warpath then this cover art that appeared on a Mantic fan page might interest you.
According to what I found on the internet this game will pit Elite units from the factions (in this case the Corporation Enforcers) against the deadly infected Plague.
With this possibly on the horizon one could assume that we'll be seeing a Warpath Kickstarter before long too. If that's the case we could be seeing vehicles and all sorts making an appearance.
On the topic if DeadZone though, would this game interest you?
Let me know below.

We may even see a DeadZone KS before a Warpath KS. I’ll certainly be picking this up one way or another.
Yeah – from the sounds of it on the Mantic forums this is indeed the case… lots of hints about it starting very soon as well!
Looking forward to this, virtually confirmed to have proper plastic sprue of enforcers, you would assume then a sprue for the plague too and hints at lots of plastic scenery but maybe thats a stretch goal for the kickstarter. Hopefully get some more info once tight-lips Ronnie has been chatting to folk at Salute/Adepticon 🙂
As much as I love mantic. I hope they don’t do a kickstarter, as they tend to use it as a glorified preorder service. Would much rather they just released more models more quickly, rather than spread them selves too thinly
But they cant release more models, more quickly without more money to design, sculpt and build them first, hence kickstarter. Think they have a ton of stuff getting ready for release the rest of this year: Dreadball season 2 nearly out, first batch of Kings of War kickstarter (2 books and about 20 units) after that, deadzone kickstarter (or first part if it takes off like the other), another dreadball season, rest of the KoW kickstarter stuff and some secret licensed property. Feels like they’ve had a bit of a lull but the rest of the year looks pretty full.… Read more »
That is true, and I will be joining the kickstarter too. I just wish they would not show a pic of something and then release it 3-4 months later. Also warpath needs to be fleshed out first. Orx have four unit. And only one of those are infantry. Veermyn and corp still have miles to go til they’re finished. And the rules need working on. Tho why they changed it from from v.1 to the monster they have now ill never know. All I’m saying is they need to finish stuff first. Then move on. KoW is getting there but… Read more »
The holes in the KoW armies are being filled a lot faster thanks to the KoW KS last year. I suspect DZ will build to a larger Warpath release anyway and the KS will see minis for usable in Warpath released.
I wont trust another kickstarter from them until they get me all of my models from the Dreadball one, I still havent even used my set as I’m waiting for my complete teams before I paint anything (as I have a habit of forgetting schemes/method if I dont paint them all at once).
I’m very happy with the DB one – it’s more a case of needing a break from ks for me 😉
So are we expecting a sort of Necromunda-style game with 6-10 minis
“..this game will pit Elite units from the factions (in this case the Corporation Enforcers) against the deadly infected Plague”. —– So, Sedition Wars then?
mantic has been talking about releasing the plague as an army since they first talked about warpath, I for one cannot wait for this
In case there was any doubt there is now definite confirmation of an imminent KS for DZ. It’ll be used to fund as many factions as possible for the launch of the game. If the campaign is successful enough then all the current Warpath races will be part of DZ as well some upcoming ones. I assume the minis from DZ would be usable in Warpath also.
