Darkson Preview AE:WWII Releases
July 28, 2011 by dracs
Darkson Designs have put up pictures of the digitally painted greens of the Japanese Hive Soldier and Living Bullet.
First let's take a look at the Living Bullet.
The paint job seems to do this bizarre model credit and has kept the feel of the teaser artwork Darkson previously released.
Alongside this is the Hive Soldier.
It might just be because I have a bit of a soft spot for Weird World War, but I really like this creepy looking guy.
So what do you all think of these? Are the greens promising? Do the paint jobs do credit to the miniatures?
Digitaly painted? wouldn’t it just be easier to paint them with real paint?
The hive soldier is suitably gribbly for my tastes.
Both OK, but I was hoping for more of a bee-hive from what I remember on the concept art; little (hexagonal) chambers drilled in flesh and such; here the predominant feature are the worms … perhaps if they were painted in darker, more “chitinous” colors instead of the dirt-worm pinks …
Blimey! He’s gonna need something more than Clearasil to shift his hives!
