i agre with u darrell the icubi are the best elite choice . i do like the wracks but there are no models for them yet . i am going to use my warroirs as the ture born warroirs but that may be the only upgrade ones i use . later
i will most likely be taking some incubi, allthough, I may just not get any elites at all.
I’m considering a single Elite Wyche squad, But not sure if they are worth the extra points.
Did you say that Harlequinns were I1 in this book? Or did I just hear that wrong?
no he made a mistake. they are still I 6.
No I think he said they are BS 1
No, I think they said the Grotesques are BS 1, not the Harlies.
If you play 3 trueborn warriors and upgrad 2 of them with the Heavy 6 gun that’ll cost you 56 pts and you get 12 poisond (4+) shots on 36”. Quite good if you ask me.
When you can take Wracks (who are typically Elite) as Troops… that frees up space to take some Kabalite Trueborns with the multiple heavy weapons…
In my opinion, getting a unit of 5 of them with 1-2 Dark Lances or a Dark Lance and Splinter Cannon, mounting them on a Venom (which also has heavy weapons, but can only transport 5).
That might be enough of a gun platform to hold up the enemy long enough to get some of your assault troops down the field. However, it’s an expensive gamble… those Venoms and Trueborns aren’t cheap… 🙁
BoW Andy
like you said they aren’t cheap so if you go for more than 3 Trueborns, I think they cost you to much. Its maybe even a better idea to play some Groutesques for those points. Because if you run them up into combat they are actually quite good.
Incubi have always been monsters in assult, they would be a great unit to protect lilith with as your Assult hammer, although it might end up being overkill.
I take Harlequins on foot in a 1k pts eldar list. They have the advantage of not getting shot at over 24″ away (shadowseer). with normal eldar you can put maugan in there with his strength 6 gun, shoot away at transports then charge up after. not sure how I’d use them in a DE list though.
The Harlequins working with the Dark Eldar really is suprising, yet not as suprising. After all when you realize they also work with humans, for the Laughing God as servants, yet are still very powerful. That being said it is rather hard to belive that pillaging, murdering, and raping, the weak does anything to help the Laughing God, (unless the Laughing God has a really sick sense of humor). Hey BOW are you guys going to resume “On the Table” it has been months after all. Forgive me if I seem harsh after all we all know how busy you… Read more »
Is the fusion pistol really s 6 in the DE dex, because it is definitely s8 melta in in the CWE dex.
Incubi all the way!
Ive always liked mandrakes but I’d probably only take them for the sentimental value lol.
Look at true born again… Unit of 10 in a raider, possible 3 dark lances and 4 blasters 18″ dark lance) that’s insane! Remember you only need to have 1 more objective than your opponent. Put these guys next to a small group of normal warriors that will actually take the objective. Put you objective about 7″ infront of cover, have the trueborn next to or near your warriors, pop transports coming in then shoot the hell out of the troops with your guys. Use your other fast stuff ( reavers maybe) to contest other objectives.
The harlequin are a surprise for me, but I can see it.
Between them, the incubi, and the true born, I have my force’s elites.
I quite dislike the mandrake models, proving GW suffered some relapses while creating such a “sexy” race. Ah, well…
