CorSec Blue Star Battlemat
November 10, 2011 by brennon
Some of you may still play Battlefleet Gothic, or more likely nowadays Firestorm Armada. Well a good space themed battlemat is always welcome. Check out this one from CorSec Engineering...
The mat comes in two sizes, 108" by 58" and 72" by 42" and from the preview at least looks very detailed. You can also get a printable version of this.
So will you be indulging in a new battlemat, or doing a 'flick paint on black board' job?

I like this. Now I don’t play any of the games you just mentioned but I do wish I did. Other games or themes that come to mind are any game about space like star trek or star wars. Also a game about greek gods or time and space travel could use this mat.
Would be good for the new Call to Arms game from Mongoose which involves Star Trek, also great for laying down if your going to play the new X-Wing game from Fantasy Flight…whenever it gets released of course.
Star mats are a great visual aid for space battle wargaming. Very pricey though for what is – essentially- a printed bed sheet.
The printable format is interesting – any idea where you could get it printed in the UK?
Ah the printable versions are designed to be printed on A4 and jigsawed together – be nice to have a full size version you could maybe take to a printer ….
The printable versions are a giant leap forward for Corsec. The price difference is ridiculous! The download costs less than five dollars, while the fabric print versions are around one hundred. I’m not saying that their fabric mats are over priced, but I think it’s a little more economical to download them and print them localy than have a finished mat shipped for overseas. Great release!
