Think the Faq has changed the thing about what models get hit by the flamer.
Q. When making a shooting attack against a unit, can Wounds from the Wound Pool be allocated to the models that were not within range of the shooting models when To Hit rolls were made (i.e. half the targeted model are in the shooting models’ range, and half are not?)
A: No.
So with flamer’s, only the models under the templates would take the hits not the rest of the squad.
Admittedly this was probably taped before the new Faq’s came out.
Yup we may have been beaten by an FAQ here, still parts are still relevant.
Question already Sent to GW and will be pesting them when I’m up at the doubles GT
@maddogdwh‘s point is almost true. It’s not just the models that are under the template. The question is can wounds be placed on models beyond the range of A template, not necessarily the one you put down. So, going on the FAQ ruling, any enemy in the unit that you _could have put the template on the wounds will spill over to, not just the one you placed. You have a template sized zone around the battlewagon that you can legitimately take casualties from. If you think of it this is more realistic than the “All 16 templates are coming… Read more »
I would say that models in the flamers’ range would get burn to the last even though if they weren’t under the template when calculating the number of hits…
But hey! I’m an ork player too!
😉
Why didn’t you put the close cam closer on the axis? Now I’m looking at the side of his face all the time ><
here’s some Dark Angels cheese….
3 Landraiders
3 Tech Marines,
fill the raiders with bodies (Deathwing or otherwise…)
watch as Techmarines repair Land Raider’s Hull Points then assualt when in range with Deathwing (or cinematic, oopen the front door and pour fire out until the enemy stops twitching….)
Could also fill them with a command squad with the dakka banner and it’s aura measures from the hull of the land raider 🙂
I’ve read elsewhere that the various fields (war gear) we can get would also measure from the hull of a vechile as well…..
Can you check that out BOW team 🙂
I think you guys need a better mike system, I have to turn the volume up so load on some of your videos, then when the graphics with sound come on its deafening, and what’s with the black and white cam?. but otherwise your videos are always top notch with great picture quality, graphics and contents
Regarding Tankbustas:
FAQ:
Page 42 – Tankbustas, Glory Hogs.
Change the second two sentences to read “They must always
attempt to shoot at and/or charge an enemy vehicle if there is
one in line of sight and range. If there is no visible vehicle
target in range, the Tankbustas may select a target as normal.”
It says “… any enemy vehicle..”, it doesn’t need to be a tank!
You’re right. It says «vehicule» not «tank».
I stand Corrected…..They have changed this back and forth a couple of times though
Hold on theres an faq on that one

hey swampy what do you think about mad dok grotsnik and him in a battle wagon and with the right troops?
Equip the battle wagon with a Deff rolla (20 pts) so you can tank shock enemy units (and even vehicules) while protecting it with the Burna boyz and the big mek with kustom force field. Simple: tank shock (d6 str 10 hits) then burn the survivor and protect the wagon from you’re opponent’s vengeance with overwatch and kustom force field…
the problem with this is that the Battlewagon has low side and rear armor and this tactic makes you rush it forward to where your opponent can get a good shot on it. I run a similar unit but replace the 15 burna boyz with Lootas. this way you can sit back and shoot your opponents with higer strength weapons and you dont need to expose the sides and rear of your vehicles.
I do it this way too, sometimes, but I replace the kustom force field with a shokk attack gun and put as many big guns as I can on the wagon (usually 4x big shootas and a zzap gun). Why not do both at the same time!
What do you think of my ork list? I’m hesitating between two at the moment:

Maybe @swampy88 can tell me wich one is the best or what he would change to make it work…
A friend of mine plays this tactic 5 battle wagons burna boys ect . Armor 14 front is really good but it does not help him against my Dark Eldar that i have first turn of firing at least 12 S8 Ap2 Lance !!! shots . if i go first normally at least 1-2 Battle wagon are down and 1-2 are badly damaged in the first round of shooting . This strategy is good only weaknesses are the lance and haywire special rules if a opposing player is using them .
You guys should do a vid entirely on the grey knights, especially Draigo 🙂 lol
Errm, I like the tactic – it’s jolly nice, but what do you do when your opponent haywires you from 24″ away? Or drops a completely sacrificial unit, or simply stays out of range/in a transport?
id like to see if yo could find some cheese to do with the tyranid codex because what im thinking is something to do with parasite of mortrex as if it charges it will get 5 attacks put it with a unit of 30 gargoyles for cover and if it is fighting anything toughnes 3 it will hit on two’s wound on two’s and on any roll of a six it instant kills due to implant attack and ignoring armour because of rending claws and it should be able to use them both as the implant attack is a biomorph… Read more »
sorry about wording mistakes should have read it back before posting
also add a flyrant to this to give the parsite and gargoyles prefferd enemy for re rolls of 1’s to hit and to wound and watch the carnage happen
Well, just because you asked fr feedback Warren:
I love the awesome lookin table, but… apart from looking awesome, it’s not doing much..
It would really add to the visual if you had like a close-up, where you could demonstrate the actual cheese.
Like, putting down the battlewagon, burna’s & mekboy. And showing the templates etc, etc…
But great show again!
Don’t know the current edition of 40K but over watch was FIRST in 40K about 20yrs ago Swampy 😉 so it may have just been reintroduced in new version.
I have been using this tactic for years as well as Nob bikers and it dose work but they are a massive target for those that know how horrible it can be.
@enduro3333: Or Gauss!
@theredterror123: I believe BoW did a video a while back on a Tyranid list. They said that was the only viable one. Buut Deep Striking a Trygon and Doom (in Spore, of course) into the enemy is a good tactic. And Hive guard behind a hill are just cruel (speaking from being on the receiving end of it).
Response to the burner boyz in a battle wagon… Stormraven with a dreadnought and another unit of choice. The turn after the SR comes on go to hover mode, dreadnought gets out and fires it’s multi-melta then charges the battle wagon or the boyz if the battle wagon has exploded. The wall of flame can’t hurt it, attacks the battle wagon at S10 on rear armour, the other unit in the SR could also get out and charge either the battle wagon or the boyz after the dread so the boyz cannot overwatch the unit. I play grey knights and… Read more »
While that could work remember two things: 1) You’d be exceptionally lucky to pop the battlewagon with the multi-melta so if you’re building to defeat this tactic I’d say it’s points wasted. It’s one shot and by the time you get 4 rolls deep (3+ to hit, 7+ to pen assuming front, 5+ for KFF save, 3+ with open topped and Ap 1 to explode) you’re looking at a 1 in 6 chance. If it’d have it anyway, fair enough, but the majority of the time the multi-melta will fail to deliver. 2) Remember that in 6th all charge results… Read more »
Oh and I should add that once the battle wagon has been popped all the burnas/mek that survived the blast wouldn’t be locked in combat and it’d be there go. Yes, they can’t touch the dread but if any of your other unit had survived the overwatch it’s then the burna’s turn to fight back and that’ll still be a lot of templates…
has anyone mentioned that template weapons can not be used with overwatch?? page 21 states that they are fired as snap shots… snap shots page13 – weapon types such as template, ordnance, … Blast, cannot be fired as snap shots.
Dude, template weapons can be used during overwatch using the wall of death special rule (p.52).
So they can… Nasty!!!. 😉
Have to love the way you have to chase the white rabbit to get all the rules sorted.
Big fan of your ideah, pity I can not employ it with Nids.
C’mon swapmie, gimme Nids Cheese.
