Check Out the Spec-Ops Troopers for Infinity!
August 20, 2012 by brennon
As if a whole week of Infinity wasn't enough, Corvus Belli also have a selection of their new Spec-Ops Miniatures to show off. Check out the various faction specific models below, all looking fantastically cool.
An awesome selection of miniatures that cover a variety of different factions. The Ariadna Spec-Ops is obviously the best of course, and I will hear no words against it!
In all seriousness though these are superb miniatures with some fantastic paint jobs. While they have no rules yet within the game, they are designed for use with the new Infinity: Campaign - Paradiso book which isn't too far away!
Which is your favourite Spec-Ops agent?
Great job they have done with these!!! really like the extra weapons you get to, allowing a bit of customisation. I have to say that I wish they were more pose-able, not saying they are bad, far from it. Just wished that my figure looked different to my opponents (ofc paint jobs do this). Would be awesome if they did plastic kits, but I’m less confident of this happening due to the few miniatures you need to play. Just thought that basic troops or an force customisation pack was available e.g. random arm swaps, weapons, heads, base pieces. If they… Read more »
They just confirmed at GenCon that they would not be doing any models in plastic. They currently have in house production facilities for metal, and they want retain complete quality control, so they will not be doing plastic as they would have to outsource it to China or France.
Also, the extra weapons are their answer to the community’s request for weapon packs.
🙂
I think choosing between plastic/metal and having models which are monopose/customisable is a difficult balancing act. I love working with plastic.. BUT, those models above could not be produced in plastic – plastic has improved a great deal over the years, but not that much.. Similarly, with the multi-part and posable models, again it can negatively impact the artistic vision of the sculptor, and also the overall effect. Of course there is the odd ‘miss’ (where the sculptor has got it wrong), but more often than not they get it right. Infinity minis have such tiny (insert emphasis!) arms, legs… Read more »
Thanks for the info guys. At least I am now better informed and It won’t change my view but I will have to come to terms with it I guess, hehe. Have to agree about the crudeness though, Infinity is HUGELY more detailed and I will love them irrespective of the medium.
Yeah the Intel and Chandra spec-ops get my vote, really great models and I’m looking forward to seeing their rules (and hopefully, some non-campaign rules for these guys). My only complaint such as it is.. is that there isn’t a male / female version for each faction. Obviously it would double the model count, but it would still be totally worth it!
they don’t have troop profile, they are used for the experience system and proxies. or thats what the corvis belli site says anyway.
The Ariadna ones made me think of the stalker games… I’ll have to buy a couple to paint up as monolith or duty.
It is a tie between Ariadna and Aleph for me. The Ariadna is well… amazing. And the Aleph… Kerrigan anyone? I can’t wait to paint her hair red.
lol exactly what I was thinking, and exactly why I went for the same two 😉
Great minds think alike!
So incredible I am really excited about these guys and the campaign book!
Now I need to buy 3 minis to get all weapon options… Don’t think I will make it magnetized. The sculpts are awesome neverless.
Each one is great, lovely poses, nice webbing and full of character, I really wait to see the conversions people will do with them.
I’m kind of dissapointed with the nomad 🙁 I guess I’ll be buying chandra and putting her the nomad’s weapons an masked head.
I really like it! It’s got a very minimalistic style about it, which I think suits the somewhat surreptitious nature of the Nomads (or at least, how they can be).
Think my favourites are probably that one, the Haqqislam and Aleph!
Ariadna looks pretty cool save for the hooded head. I mean he is all armored up except for his brain bucket!? I like the mask bit and may get this model to paint up even though I do not own an Ariadna army. That makes at least 2 of these models I will get, the Yu Jing one and Ariandna. The best part is having some options for conversions.
Yu Jing and Ariadna for the win!
The Chandra Spec-Op makes me think of a starcraft ghost 🙂
looks like i need to buy 4 for each faction I want to get all the weapon options, hey im not complaining, it means I get 4 proxy fusilers 🙂
Oooh, the Haqqislam and Aleph looks good.
How about the Tohaa?
I really like the nomad and the ALEPH ones. The nomads have finally found a way to produce appropriately sized weapons.
