There’s been a few Chaos armies put in an appearance at our club in the last few weeks in anticipation of the new codex. I can see that most of them are going to have to make quite a few changes.
Looking forward to next week already
oh god not filling me with much hope here guys. i just hope they are good but i guess we will see. but as a demon and chaos marine man i can see a fluffy nurgle alliance being good for a giggle, thank ronnie for making round bases for my mantic zomb…oops!!! i mean “plague zombies”, mmm i sense a claustrophobic and tightly packed urban board coming on with a wee squad of dudes holding out against the oncoming nurgle hordes…… looking forward to next week though, cheers guys oh and thanks for ignoring puff the crap dragon most stupid… Read more »
Nice introduction to the book. Looking forward to getting it. 🙂
From the sound of everything that you said it seems like Chaos got nerfed again. Nothing that jumps out and says this is to be feared and if it is you have a great amount of risk on the users part that makes such choices unattractive to field. Why oh why is Chaos becoming more and more the unlikely army to choose? At one time they where a real fear inducing army, now the loyalist imperium armies seem to bat them aside. Even if you think about it for narrative and fluff Chaos IS the ultimate enemy of the good… Read more »
Turning cheap(by GW standards anyway) models like a marine into expensive ones like a prince when they do the only job they’re really good at seems slightly disingenuous, especially when that expensive model’s rules are nerfed…
Reducing the sorcerer from warlord to lackey stats doesn’t sit right either.
Cultists “upgraded” to zombies loose all their shooting but don’t really gain that much from the sounds of it?
Dammit Kelly, you used to be cool.
Who is actually doing chaos week? Obviously Darrell will be their because he is the cheese master but is Warren going to do chaos week like he did for necron week ?
I’m hoping from watching this that the ‘codex creep’ that everyone complained about has ended and GW a trying to make things more balanced.
I’m really glad there is segregation between the powers – it is nuts to have a Knorne character leading a unit of tzeentch (when he should be biting them). Rival powers should be allies of convenience at best.
I’m very excited about the boon chart – hopefully it adds more randomness and fun. I miss chaos warbands – the Realm of Chaos isn’t what it used to be…
There are some powerful things in the codex, but most of it is just broken enough so it wont work in a tourney, or just enough points more than it should be to discourage you. And the thing is filled with stuff that needs FAQed for example: you can’t have an IC join a unit with a diferent mark, abadons mark is all the marks, does that mean he can join any marked unit or no marked units at all? Kharn’s 1s hit friendly models, he hits on a two and has hatred are his 1s misses and therefore rerolled,… Read more »
nice intro guys. i was thinking of using my blood angels as chaos to give myself another option for an army (2 for 1 as i don’t want to pay for any more models!!) this week will be useful! I have noticed though, the book and the fantasy dragon thingy are way more expensive than other army equivalents… eek! (but not really surprised!!!)
Thing to do with cultists models (which the DV ones are superb!)…. chaos guard models! how awesome?!
yep, run guard allies, use Straken’s rules as an alpha legionnaire, skeletons as penal legion led by necromancers, alien mercs as rough riders, some big mutants as ogryns, hrud as ratlng snipers etc, It’ll look awsome and frankly the imperial guard codex has probably benefited most from the change to 6th ed…
