Shame its not 2 factions of choice, or I would be tempted
cant have it all but grear deals if you think about it
With a choice of factions I wouldn’t just be tempted – I’d be buying! Not I merely remain tempted – for the moment…
Yep I agree as I’m wanting sefadu but not convinced I want the cuff, not that I dislike the models- I actually think they are the best models but I’m not sold on the incinerator and heavy guy Thu, plus there are better snipers out there for me. maYbe they’ll change their mind, maybe I’ll change mine… shiny shiny
Am i sounding grumpy if i say i think thats pretty expensive for 2 small starter sets and a rulebook?
Mercs isn’t cheap, it not grumpy to express you don’t think its great value, but its is an extra 10% discount if I am correct.
And while it isn’t cheap, you really only need a handful of figs for a full game.
More options would have been better, like ISS vs Texico.
It’s a bit pricey BUT you don’t need any more models and if you go halves with a friend it’s a pretty good deal
As others have mentioned, too bad the factions are set. Otherwise the price would be fine – a two-player game with no need to buy additional figures soon is actually quite appealing. However, most people I asked to join in were put off by the average price tag. So, here’s hope for an extended choice of boxed sets later on.
Mercs by name mercenary by nature, well that is how I see the pricing strategy.
You can get two warmachine or hoards battleboxes for this “discount price” and trust me it is a far better game imo. As I downloaded the rules and cards and played a few games this weekend, all I can say is it was meh!
Plus a warmachine or hoards rulebook in fact as the rrp for a battlebox is £29.99 and the rule book can be bought for £19.99.
While I agree that the choice of factions would make this deal all the sweeter, I cannot agree that other games are a better value. (In general anyway.) While it may be true that more models may be purchased for less money in other systems, with MERCS the starter is all you ever need to purchase. $10 here and there for a 7th figure isn’t required but isn’t really asking much. To spend $65 in any other miniatures game merely gets you started with almost an obligation to purchase more, lots more! I am quite pleased that $100 gets me… Read more »
So say we all!
Yeeeeee mercs!
