The guys are back with more from the Bootleg series of models for Infinity. Today Gav and Justin are having a look at the Tech-Bees, Maintenance Battalions for Panoceania!
Video is Private, you Tease!
Thank you for fixing it! You are no longer just a tease. You put out now too!
I understand these are about the pinups, but would it have been so hard to include the legs and make it a usable figure? Also, I’ve said it before, but there’s no way I could paint with that much detail… and I consider myself an ‘OK’ painter. Really pretty, but out of my league (like so many things in life).
You can, if you want, to convert it with a normal cutter and get a combination kit.
But the purpose of these kits is to give models that are mini dioramas.
Yeah. $70 later, and now with an extra upper body. That’s not a hobby, that’s a vice! And I do understand what they’re trying to do. This one is just specifically so close to being complete.
O Yoroi pilot is even closer, if one wants to incorporate these sculpts to a more complete state, then its definitely for a really involved diorama.
I think you’ll find that, for such quality (it’s display, not rank and file, and detailed to the max), 70 dollars is a good price to pay… After all, that’s what GW charges for some of their most basic stuff, isn’t it ?
@dignity ” i wouldn’t complain if there was a troop of them working on my tag” uh huh, tag… Yeah… 😉
I’ve seen teasers on Angel’s blog where he has converted this kit with the TAG. I’m sure it will look amazing when done.
I understand this is a display piece… but what, 13 separate pieces, half of them itsy bitsy?
I don’t want to even try to assembly this thing. Even after 25 years of metal models, it’s just above my skill level…
I honestly think most people see metal and just panic, there is nothing in it that is above somebodies level, especially if they have 25 years of experience.
These are not GW’s metals, great metal figures can exist!
I love metal models. I prefer them to plastic in almost every way. I’ve been painting and collecting them for almost 30 years now and I have thousands of them.
The one exception is multi-part models. Those are acceptable, as long as the joins are properly engineered, have locating tabs and are large enough to take pins and have enough connecting surface for a sturdy join. But I still don’t like assembling them.
I like having a lot of parts to my miniatures… especially if there’s a lot of details. It allows me to paint some of them separately.
Mmm-m, I so do love fanboy pandering in my wargames! This doesn’t even try to make excuses, it’s plain waifu nonsense. I even remember when Infinity was about semi-realistic scifi soldiers with just a hint of cheesecake, not “totally not space marines, honest” knightly orders with their trademark battle-diapers and this…lowest common denominator line of models. I guess tits sell in the end…
Comparing a space-marine’s bulky and chunky design with the superbly detailed knightly orders is… misguided… and quite funny.
That said, well, it’s apparently a man’s game, and tits do sell… Plus they like drawing and sculpting them. Just look at the forums for the game… They take their cue from fans.
Hardly misguided. Yes, the knights look better, but they are essentially pandering to the same playerbase. Silly swords, check. Religious fanatism, check. Christian or pseudo-christian (in case of 40k) decorations? check as hell. And while Infinity has less close combat than 40k in general, the Knights are still one of the more CC focused sectorials. I’m sorry, I’m just not happy they went from “capitalist democracy with some church influence” in original book to “FOR THE EMPRA…I MEAN THE POPE!” in the sectorial. Same thing happened with the Yu Jing- in the first book, the japanese were barely there. Then… Read more »
