BoW Adam was at Combat Patrol

If you’ve been missing BoW Adam then check out this short video with the main man himself from a tournament called Combat Patrol.
Combat Patrol is a 40k 400 points special rules event and the guys made this video so a gaming friend of theirs that had shipped out to Afghanistan could see what they got up to.
For anyone interested, the event was in a hobby shop called “Chimera Hobby Shop” in Appleton, Wisconsin, United States.
Oh and people it’s worth painting your stuff as Adam went from a score of 1 last year to 32 this time!

They do exist! All your hopes and dreams have come true.
Combat patrol is actually really fun! You don’t have to have a zillion troops on the board and 2vs2 is a new challenge altogether
How does Combat Patrol work? Do they use the 4th edition rules? Is it actually good and balanced or do certain armies have huge advantages? I would love to play 40k at lower point levels but it is never a satisfying experience…
Combat Patrol uses 5th edition rules, with some simple modifications and limitations. The standard is usually 400 points, but some people play 500. Last year at Adepticon all the CP tournaments (I think) were 400 points. We use the Adepticon rules set, which you can download from their website: http://www.adepticon.org/11rules/2011cp.pdf
It’s really a lot of fun, and a great way to get people into 40k, since the model count is pretty low. My list at the tourney was 10 Chaos Space Marines (including an Aspiring Champion) in a Rhino and 6 Plague Marines.
Sweet! Thanks for the info!
I have run a few Combat Patrol Tournaments and have used the 4th edition FOC rules at 400 points and also at 500 points. The games are fast and fun. Virtually all the players bring fun lists insead of killer lists. My favorite was the Grot Uprising. Grots and Kans.
SO who is TED?
