Many Bothans Died to Bring News of Star Wars Edge of Darkness

Fantasy Flight Games are releasing a new expansion for the Star Wars card game; Edge of Darkness, bringing with it a new affiliations for both the forces of the light and the dark side of the force.
This expansion brings with it 22 new objective sets and 132 new cards. These include two new affiliations. The Dark side will be getting the Scum and Villainy affiliation, focusing on capturing an opponent's cards using such iconic figures as Jabba the Hutt and Slave I.
The Light side get the help of the Smugglers and Spies, which focuses on taking gambles on high risk, high gain strategies, as well as stealthy tricks, such as allowing you to strike even out of engagements.
This set of course focuses primarily upon the events we witnessed in the original three films, but will also allow you to play out events that may have been happening at the time. The example Fantasy Flight give is the infiltration efforts of the Bothans. Don't know what a Bothan is? Don't worry, they just died trying to bring you that information.
So guys will you stand upon the Edge of Darkness? For the Bothans!

Not a single picture of a Bothan in any of FFG’s promotional material. If that’s not a tease I don’t know what is.
Can’t believe how many card games there are in the world today. It’s not as if they grow on trees……. Oh no, wait….. 😛
I’m kind of surprised that FFG is trying to run so many LCGs at once. At $15 per month for each expansion plus another $30 for every “deluxe” expansion there are only so many of these games a player can afford to keep up with all at once. Combined with the CCGs that FFG doesn’t make (some, like Magic, which are significantly more expensive), CCG players are going to have to make some choices. I’ve played the core set and I can say its really good and if you like LCG then this is one to add to your collection. Going beyond the cards themselves, 2 of the mechanics that I really like is the Death Star Dial which puts an added bit of pressure on the Light Side Player and the Edge battles which brings a really cool amount of tactics and mystery with cards defeating other cards. I really recommend Netrunner. I can’t recommend it enough, frankly. I consider the original game to be one of the pinnacles of the CCG genre, and I like the new one slightly better simply because it’s a LCG and not a random-booster TCG. I think the new version of the game still needs some time for the expansions to really flesh out the diversity of the available cards, but right now I’m very pleased with it and I look forward to every expansion release. I really liked the WoW TCG and would love to get back into it. But it was hard to get games after the first release. Something about the colourful cartoony design and trips down memory lane playing for days hooked up to a drip playing WoW.
