Time to wrap up the Blood Angels Codex with a look at the Fast Attack & Heavy Support choices.
So there you go, what do you guys think of Blood Angels and do you have a killer list for them?
If you do send it to [email protected] and who knows we might pick it out for an Enlisted video.

The list I generally play is probably quite boring: 4 assault squads with a librarian. Two Baal predators with flamers and flamestorm cannons, 2 Stormravens with las cannon and multimelta and three landspeeders with multimelta and heavy flamer.
I thought that’d give me some close, medium and long range options and generally that’s turned out. It’s not very exciting – no furiosos, no sanguinary guard, no terminators but at 1750 that’s my list.
Running to higher I put a gunner dreadnought in and the furioso on the stormravens.
Any advice would be most welcome!
descent of angels special rule applies to ANY blood angel wearing a jump pack. the reason the vanguard vets don’t have the descent of angels special rule listed is because they don’t come standard with jump packs.
Descent of angels comes with every blood angel model equiped with jump packs (page 62). I believe the rule is mentioned only on guys’ profiles who wear jump packs by default. But does it make the vanguard squad more interesting ?
For me most of the units I’d take are back in the troops section, though its fun to note that again most of the units here are straight copy and paste from vanilla marines and the only changes are beneficial- IE predators whirlwinds and vindicators become fast in exchange for the 1 point searchlight, and the devastator squad gets the heavy weapons 5-10 points cheaper – space wolves did it to offset their more vulnerable nature (they can never buy the meat shield extra marines) and the fact you HAVE to upgrade them all except the sergeant, in blood angels… Read more »
I love these videos guys, I’d love a breakdown of the Tau or Imperial Guard.
I think it’ll be necrons next 😛
No, what really bugs me is the heroic intervention being exclusive to vanguards. In an army where the basic marine comes with jump packs (where even dreadnoughts can fly !) and an army pretty much based on assault, with elite guys so proud of their jumping skill that they glued feathers on their thrusters, the oldest and most experienced jumping marine commander of all the warhammer 40k universe is still disoriented when deepstriking… I know it would be a bit cheesy, but it would have made Dante and the Sanguinary Guard usefull…
Nice recap of the blood angels video’s that got lost guys.
Any chance of doing the Dark Angels next please.
Cheers
Storm Raven Gunship is awesome. Expesially when all upgrades that you want to give it are all free so its most likely just that 200pts. Its much better than 50pts more expensive Land Raider and allows you to use those 50pts to something else like to Rhino.
Its a lot more fragile than a land raider though, and arguable more of a bullet magnet than a land raider, but I would say swapping assault cannons for plasma cannons free is a pretty good deal considering you can use PoTMS to fire the plasma and get roughly the same chance of a direct hit.
For my money 50 points is easily worth the extra AV. At 14 all around the Landraider can’t be penetrated by the vast majority of weapons. Even Las-Cannons and Assault Cannons can only penetrate on the very best dice rolls possible with either weapon.
AV12 has the same chance to get penetrated by an Auto-Cannon shot as the Landraider does a Lascannon.
I want you to look at ALL the codexes
anybody think these videos are just helping Andy decide on a army to start 40k
Great vid. Could you look at the Eldar codex please maybe with some speculation on upcoming changes?
What about tyranids because all it tyranid stuff disappeared
Jump packs bestow DoA to the wearer.
