Great video Darrell, I have not seen Black Templars on the table for a long time, But todays video covered a lot of useful stuff for everyone.
yea i use this all the time as an Ork player. Furious charge rocks. S9 agenst land raiders.wwaaaagghhh!!!
Someone brave enough to start a Templar army with the current dex. Cudos to you sir. Enjoy those target priority rolls.
Those ultramarine termies are illegal.
Can’t have cyclones and assault cannon with just 5 termies. :p
He points out the ultra smurfs are being proxied for BT termies who can take two weapons in a 5man squad. Dual tank hunting assault cannons and 5pt chainfists are awesome
C’mon man.
Have you not learned anything? This is Darrell your talking about! His termies can all have cyclones and assault cannons on each model. Also they all hit on a role of 1 or higher. You can’t face the wrath of Darrell, its pointless ;(
This is a great vid. I don’t think every video should be about finding cheese or solving difficult issues. I am a big fan of showing how the rules work. Usually when you just read the rules its hard to get a clear picture in your head,(especially when English is not your native language). With these videos you can just show how a rule works, that’s awesome.
As you say, Darrell, we all have to start somewhere, so kudos for answering this question.
I’d say the single best way to pick up the rules is to play against people who’ve played a lot.
Yeah, 9 times out of 10 you’ll get your arse handed to you this way, but you’l pick up the rules a lot faster.
So, wehere exactly does it mention that you add +1 to the power fist’s strength of 8, rather than the model’s strength of 4? I had this come up in a game with my friends orcs and power claws. He hit the land raider and claimed strength 10 coz it add’s one to strength. the wielder’s strength 4, +1 to 5 then double it as it’s a claw. I looked for ages and could find nothing to say it was +1 to the strength 8 rather than the 4… help!!!
Page 7 of the rulebook under multiple modifiers – “If a model has a combination of rules or wargear that both add to and multiply one of its characteristics, first multiply the basic value and then add the extra points.”
thank you, that will do nicely
its bout time some1 asked that question ive always wonderd lol
so what about a Space Wolves say a wolf lord takes a thunderwolf mount how would that work out? my friend think his lord will hits at str 10 be because the wolf mount add the +1 str to the profile
There’s a huge debate on this, according to the FAQ the bonus toughness makes it 5 base rather than 4(5) So logic says the same thing happens with str, he becomes 5 base which doubles to 10 rather than 4 doubling to 5 and adding afterwards.
Meant doubling to 8, teach me to not pay full attention heh
Darrel really slipped in the best advice to our young Black Templar player that could ever be given, put Lightning claws on them. Your Emperors Champion is going to give you reroll of misses, and the claws let you reroll to wound. Just set them in a landraider crusader to deliver them properly and when they roll out they are going to drop mobs three times their size. Set up two of these units with LRC’s and you are death incarnate. For the Emperor, young BT player!!! Good luck.
Oh, the only exception to the initative 1 i have ever seen is Deamonhunters Deamonhammer where the hammer rolls at normal intiative against deamons. Still… spot on video.
