A Bizarre Ship Joins Dystopian Wars’ Russian Coalition
March 22, 2013 by dracs
The Russian Coalition of Dystopian Wars is getting a rather strange looking new ship for their fleet; the Veliky Class Escort.
This is the Veliky Class Escort, whose circular shape apparently makes it far more manoeuvrable, meaning it will be able to out flank enemies that are trying to sink your more powerful and valuable ships.
Spartan Games are also giving away a Russian Fleet Commodore with every order placed that includes a Russian Coalition model, so now would be a good time to pick up those Russian ships you've been umming and ahing over.
Now in Dystopian Wars fleet boxes you will get a print out with all the templates you need to play the game, but being card they aren't the most stylish or robust. So Spartan Games have released a new set of movement templates.
Are you going to join the Russian Coalition?
Oddly enough, if you google early Russian naval vessels, they actually did have round ships at one point… They soon wished up.
And that concludes today’s naval history lesson… Pop quiz on Monday to make sure you all paid attention.
The real funny thing is why it didn’t work; apparently one of the reasons was that shooting from its cannons made it turn on spot. 😀
Now that’s funny! LOL!!
Well the obvious solution to that is add cannons all over it and shoot them all at the same time so the force is equal and therefor stable. Now you certainly wouldn’t want to be an ally ship beside it… or behind it… or in front of it. Second thought scrap the round ships with all the cannons. Bad idea 😛
Unless you time them so, that they shoot one after the other when the ship turns and they come to bear … the world’s largest Gatling gun! 😀
Yes thats it! Timing is what it needs. Yes your aiming will be the worst in the world by the time you get to the last cannon, but who cares it be fun!
No matter, by then you’ve got the cannons primed and ready for another spin! Double rations of vodka required to cancel out the dizziness of the crew.
