Beasts of War Head to Warhammer 40K Doubles Weekend
September 4, 2012 by dracs
This weekend Warhammer World will be hosting a Warhammer 40k Doubles Tournament and Beasts of War will be there!
Beasts of War's very own master of cheese, accompanied by myself, the studio's resident hobbit, will be flying over to England this week to take part in the Warhammer 40,000 tournament.
Both of us will be bringing a mighty army of Space Wolves (my own Space Marine army isn't quite ready yet so I stole some off Darrell) and, together with our respective team mates, will be ready to spend a weekend of gaming in the heart of the hobby.
Now if I could only remember the blasted rules.
If any of you will be going this weekend be sure to keep an eye out for us and feel free to come over and chat, or even offer some tactical advice. Please I really need it.
Hope to see you there.

So is the plan to let Sam’s troops collect cannon fodder while Darrell’s forces clean up?
You need an old gamer and a young gamer!
Don’t let Darrell drink the night before playing.
Good luck fellas, look forward to seeing the lists you take and your progress.
Title of article + picture = misinterpreted
GOOD LUCK !!
Come in February guys and I’ll see you there
The only advice I can give you Sam is hit the other player with the rule book, its rather thick. On a D6 role of 3+ you do one wound. If its a her your facing you take the wound. Sorry, thems the rules.
I was just thinking…
Don’t they make a lovely couple..?
Not sure what the offspring would look like though – hellbrute comes to mind…
Cheers and good luck fellas, can’t make it this year… ;o(
Steve1797 ;o)
Best of luck guys. Hope all that cheese talking pays off 🙂
Have fun guys
flying over to england? where are you guys from?
northern ireland and yes its sh1t living here
Well I’m from England and then moved to N.Ireland. Considering that move got me out of an incredibly snobbish school and ended up getting me a job reporting on my hobby I’d say life is good here.
Good luck Sam!
…
Yes, yes, alright, you to Darrel… Just… Don’t drink as much as a true wolf and you’ll do great
Btw, maybe get the lists up so we can all advice & criticise?
Can you use other manufacturers bits at official GW events? I know it’s GW models only but I was wondering could I do a head swap with a non GW fig? or use a piece from a different manufacturer to show equipment?
I’m afraid not, it’s very strict. Miniatures have to have GW components and they have to be wizziwig. Has rather restricted us in terms of what we can take.
I always wonder if they would ever notice if you sneaked in a regiment of Avatars of War Slayer/Berserkers lol?
BoW Ben
Thanks, I will keep that in mind for my new Thousand Sons Army.
I am hoping to take it to the next Doubles weekend at the beginning of the year. Good luck for the weekend and I am really looking forward to hearing how you guys do.
They do allow scratch built parts as long as they are repressented correctly. For example you can scratch build a predator turret and use it as long as the barrel is the same length and it looks right. Cant make the barrel 12″ to get that extra reach.
Good luck guys. I did have the money to go to England and Ireland but bought one thing from forge world and now I’m broke.
And this is a company that somehow still deserves attention … has to have GW components .. ffs?
Well done guys for the weekend, hope you had fun. a lot tougher than you thought? I do have to say that the guys who won the event?? don’t surprise me lol
To Sam and Darrel ;
How did you get on ?
I believe Darrel’s team went 4-1 over the course of the weekend, though they could probably confirm that for you. I only know as they were my teams second match, which we managed to win by one victory point!
Poor old Mephiston kept fluffing his attacks against a unit of flamers.
Great game though, very close, good fun and nice guys.
