Battlefront’s Flames Of War Plans For 2025; Early War & More!
December 18, 2024 by brennon
Battlefront Miniatures have put together their annual look ahead for 2025 and what they have planned for Flames Of War. Some theatres of war will be revisited whilst a new period will also appear with a bunch of new miniature releases. 15mm World War II is in for a treat in 2025!
The Pacific // Flames Of War
The first of the new books will cover the fighting in The Pacific between 1942 and 1943. This new book was meant to come out this year but has now slipped to April 2025. As with all of the new books from Battlefront, there will be codes within the books for you to get your forces and a digital PDF which is a nice bonus.
Inside The Pacific, you'll find a breakdown of the forces fighting during that period for both the Axis and Allies. There will be rules for the Americans and the Japanese as well as the British and Commonwealth forces that would have been there too.
Three new boxed sets will be available alongside the launch of the book.
Japanese Rifle Company // Flames Of War
You have one for the Japanese as well as one for the Americans and another for the British. They will come packed with a mixture of infantry and vehicles best representing each nation.
US Marine Rifle Company // Flames Of War
Each of the sets will also come with a set of limited edition markers and dice so you can show your support. The British Far East Rifle Company is of particular interest as you don't often get to see people considering the British involvement in the fighting in the Far East.

All of this comes together as a nice bundle for those seeking to dive into The Pacific theatre for perhaps the first time. The island-hopping battles of The Pacific were very different from the muddy fields and forests of Europe or even the sands of Africa so it could be an interesting new theatre to explore.
Operation Bagration
Head to the Eastern Front and maybe join Shay commanding the armies of the Soviets!
Operation Bagration // Flames Of War
The Eastern Front returns to Flames Of War with a revamped book for Operation Bagration and the associated Reinforcement Unit Cards. In August 2025 you'll be able to get stuck into the fighting between the Soviets and the Germans on the Eastern Front and see how you fare. Get your tank riders ready and prepare for some brutal, gruelling fighting in 15mm.
Early War
The big news from Battlefront Miniatures was that they were going to be diving into Early War. Battlefront's Peter explained that this is a period of World War II that they have always wanted to do but it has taken a while for them to "get it right". That looks to be the case considering what we've got coming!
Early War Books // Flames Of War
Leading the way will be the Blitzkrieg book which will cover the invasion of France during 1940. This will then lead to two additional books in 2026 that cover Barbarossa and Battleaxe with the fighting in Eastern Europe and in North Africa.
Two brand-spanking-new Starter Sets will come out along the Blitzkrieg book with the French Vs Germans and the British Vs Germans. You could play out those early battles and perhaps the fighting retreat of the British back to Dunkirk.
The Early War will also play host to a huge array of new plastic kits covering the French, Germans and the British. Here is a snippet of what they have been working on...
Hochkiss H-35 & H39 // Flames Of War
French Infantry // Flames Of War
Yes, that is full new plastic tanks and plastic infantry for the Early War covering each of the three nations that they are addressing in Blitzkrieg.
Panzer II // Flames Of War
German Infantry // Flames Of War
German Guns // Flames Of War
The Early War is barely touched in World War II wargaming with more of the focus shifting to the Mid and Late War especially. It's cool that Battlefront's Flames Of War is seeking to do more to cover the period and with a whole host of new plastic kits.
British Infantry // Flames Of War
British Gun Crews // Flames Of War
One of the fun bonuses for the Early War is that Battlefront Miniatures have discussed introducing some rather funky new tanks into the mix. Known as the Early War 'Eavies, there will be one for the French and the British and something "unpronounceable" for the Germans according to Peter.
Early War 'Eavies // Flames Of War
The future is looking rather good for those seeking to dive deeper into Flames Of War in 2025. I like that they are exploring other theatres of war again but also looking at the Early War in such depth. There's plenty more to come from Battlefront Miniatures as well but we'll cover that in a separate piece. Make sure to watch the video above from Peter for all the other images we didn't fit in here!
Are you going to give Early War a go?
"Leading the way will be the Blitzkrieg book which will cover the invasion of France during 1940..."
Used to play this. Just can’t find the joy in it anymore.
I feel that. Played for years, and finally realized that I wasn’t having fun because I absolutely detest the rules system.
Reminds me of Warhammer, which is not a point in it’s favor.
Will be saving my pennies for this lot 👍
Finally a British vs German box.
I remember last time they did Early War. And then nobody played it because “muh Tigers.”
Who knows, maybe this time around people won’t be cretins.
The new terrain to come out is looking great
