Darrell is in cheese mining overdrive!
Today's tip is on getting the best chance of getting in to combat, when you have terrain between you and that soft unit, your heavy combat unit has been eyeing up all game.

Those dire avengers look more like guardians to me 😛
Good tips though Darrell, especially useful with my Dark Eldar 😉
Ah, i knew where this was going, even before i watched the whole clip. Here’s something to think about, Darrell. I don’t think, that you can roll your dice seperately, because the combined unit starts its movement together. That’s why they roll the dice together. By my understanding of the Movement rules and the IC-Rules the character leaves the unit during the model-by-model unit movement by ending his move out of coherency and remaining out of it until the end of the phase. I know, this is not how it is played. Most people just declare, that a character leaves… Read more »
yeah this is what I thought. You don’t leave the unit immediately, you leave it by moving out of coherency…so if you’re immediately faced with terrain it probably doesn’t work.
I had to check out the average you will roll with the 3 dice and it’s 4.96 so not bad Darrell in guessing ‘5’ 🙂
And if you needed say ‘4’ you’ll roll that or higher 189/218 times or 87% of the time. Nice
Darrel, i’d just like you to clear up a bit of cheese one of my opponents found. In terms of army selection, if a heavy support unit is taken as a dedicated transport, does it still take up a heavy support choice? ie If a unit of nobz took a bettlewagon as a dedicated transport, does this cost a heavy support choice?
Thanks
Ah, i see you mess something up here. The Battlewagon is generally no dedicated transport. It’s just a Heavy Support unit, that has transport capacity and therefore can carry other units. The only dedicated transport in the Ork-Codex is the Trukk (see page 100 Codex Orks and page 87 of the RB) and indeed, it doesn’t take up any FOC slots. BUT the Nobz have a special transport option, that allows them under certain restrictions to take a Battlewagon as a dedicated transport. If they choose to do this, this special Battlewagon does not take up slots of the FOC,… Read more »
Why is he rolling 2/3 dice for things moving through difficult terrain? I thought only monstrous creatures could roll 2 dice for difficult terrain. And doesn’t move through cover mean you don’t need to roll for your distance at all?
You roll two dice normally, or three if it’s a monstrous creature or independent character.
