Darrell's up to his old tricks and has found yet another way to slip some cheese in to a game of Warhammer 40K.

hilarious I (as a Blood Angels player ) like what I see ^^
Sanguinary Guard: Blood Guard who have Blood swords and Angel wings and Angelus bolters that shoot Bloodshard shells that spill Blood for the Blood God- I mean, Emprah.
😀
I use this for contesting objective with my tau devil fish because i load them with the drones so 12 inch move 2 inch dis-mount and 6 inch assault then 3 inch contesting ( or that’s what my games use for contesting) so i have a great 23 inch contesting range with at least 2 different skimmers, although the drones are gone it may save you the game
If you were assaulting a unit of troops on turn one and manage to destroy them you may even be able to consolidate back into the land rader. That would be cool to see.
Nope no consolidating into vehicles, rules state you can only enter vehicles during the movement phase.
Complete and utter cheese. But I wouldn’t expect anything else from Darrell.
Defiantly going to try it with my Space Wolves..
As Blood Angels player this is one cheese that makes me happy.
Chaos can do similar and this for a couple of years now, blow up vehicle, lash unit closer charge them.
I’d like to see more about cheesy vehicle turning.
My opponents often cry cheese when I am turning my Eldar Wave Serpents 180 deg which gives troops on board good several inches extra distance. But the rules are clear: vehicles turn by pivoting and you effectively measure distance covered by the geometrical centre of the vehicle not its bumpers.
Darrell your incorrect here, The rule book clearly states on page 67 that when a vehicle has moved , the passengers may disembark but not move any further int he movement phase. it then goes on as says “after disembarking, these models may shoot (counting as moving), but MAY NOT ASSAULT.”
If the book says that then you have a point my friend !!!
the Land Raider is an ASSAULT vehicle so yes he can look it up
I have taken a look at the 5th edition rulebook but found no sign of the rule for assault vehicles, (but knowing it as GW, I am not surprised) I assume it is a codex rule especially for spaces marines then unless you can point it out to me in the book. I can see the the rule working for open topped vehicles though.
I wish I can see it in real action that !!!
This 2″ deployment from a transport (disembarkation) should indeed be 2″. Darrell is making it about 4″. It should be measured from the door (in the case of a LR it’s probably the front landing ramp) to the FRONT of the Terminator’s base. Darrell is measuring it from the REAR of the base, saying something like ‘any part of the base has to be within 2inches’. That is NOT how you move in any tabletop game, and he has just stolen the width of the Termie’s base, i.e. 2″. I’ve seen this happen a lot in many tacticas on the… Read more »
Darrell’s is right
Page 81 of space marines codex 5th ed
Assault vehicule : Models disembarking from any access point on a land raider can launch an assault on the turn they do so.
If you look at the drawing in the rule book. You will notice a little drawing showing marines coming out of a rhino within 2″ And it clearly shows that you can have just a tiny bit of your base inside the 2 inch radius
