March 22, 2014 by lloyd
While at this years Dropzone Commander Tournament and Open Day "Invasion 2014" we got chatting with Patrice the new Hawk Wargames artist about his work for the next Dropzone Commander Book. So of course we had to make a video to show of his great work.
Make sure and tell us what you think of the new art with a comment below, by doing so you will be entered into our prize draw to win a signed print! Get your entry in before the end of April 4th 2014.

Saw his artwork at the tournament, Patrice is clearly a very talented artist. Looking forward to seeing more if his work.
The new book is going to look so much more professional – the core rules look nice, but it is just a series of photos of the (wonderful) models. This new book should expand the universe greatly.
Plus, wining one would be fantastic.
That’s one heck of an artist! Wish I could draw/paint like that!
I always get jealous when I see something like that!
jaw dropping stuff.
Drop zone commander is a wonderfully cinematic gaming experience and this fantastic artwork will only enhance that experience. Roll on the new book.
very nice
Very nice. I wonder if this is the guy who did the art for the box set: that was awesome.
Amazing artwork, also glad to hear all the new units plus the resistance faction will be in a single expansion book and not spread out into multiple supplements.
Watch it on youtube. Verry verry nice art. Like i said love tjose destroyers. They are scary
The artwork is better then some of the art books i’ve seen at school
That’s why I love Dropzone Commander! Huge pieces of art, wonderful work from Patrice (this guy got talent, man!). DzC got a very good background, i was totally in it when I read it. Good luck to David and all his team with this great project!
Gorgeous work by Patrice. The atmosphere generated is stunning, can’t wait to see more.
Hope to see more shaltari artwork in the future
Right, I that was the the last thing I need to get into this game. I am going down the FLGS tomorrow morning with the intent to get the starter box. If they keep going down this road DZC going to a game with a sensational feel to it.
DZC is a really fun game and has taken off for me locally. We’ve got a large group of players. I’m really looking forward to the expansion book. The artwork is very nice and brings a sense of story to the universe that it can really use. I’d love to win the artwork!
Wow that’s really cool piece of art work!
These are quite immersive visuals, with interesting urban details. I think they will assist in generating an inviting atmosphere for the game. Imagine if Patrice designed the terrain packs as well.
I’m holding off from DZC until I have a gap in my mini painting window (it’s about 2018, but I’m trying). However, it’s getting more difficult after seeing artwork like this; maybe I’ll start with the new book when it comes and the artwork will keep my wallet in check. Some chance…..
The Scourge are incredibly easy to paint. Drybrushing brings out the details amazingly
i love em! the feelings conveyed in the different pieces are intense. i never thought i would feel anything about e giant worm but Patrice came through! great catch, hawk wargames!
Amazing artwork. This has cemented DZC as my next gaming purchase. Once I’ve recovered from this months Dreadball and Guild ball that is
Wow. Stunning work and a great statement of intent from Hawk Wargames. Artwork to challenge the more established games.
Bravo Patrice! .
That looks pure awesome. The razor worms feel even more brutal now. Thanks Hawk and look forward to seeing the next book.
Peace
Exactly what dzc needed – some perspective to help build the individual stories. Both worm pieces are intense, but the resistance eking out a life as the city/buildings around them are reclaimed by nature catches my imagination the most. The last of us game did that very well too. I’d buy the book just based on this artwork, let alone the game.
It reminds me quite strongly of the apocalyptic feel of the movies that came out in the 80’s early 90’s
Like. This is making me want to get into Dropzone Commander
