Anvil Industry Hire Some Specialist ‘Black Ops’ Steam Lords
February 13, 2013 by brennon
Anvil Industry are taking a bit of a different road with their upcoming release for the Steam Lords. It comes in the form of these 'Black Ops' variants who are loaded with so much kit you better hope their powered armour is turned on!
According to the preview everything on these models is new save the helmet choice. I have to say when I first saw this I thought it was just cluttered but I actually do quite like it now.
If the kit comes with all these options as separate parts then you can spend a fair bit of time creating your own individualised specialist soldiers.
Do you think that's a bit too much kit?

I really, really, REALLY (go the triple repetitive adverb!) like these figures. ‘Cluttered’ perhaps, awesome looking – definitely!
The only thing that spoils these IMO are the plethora of pockets on the chest plate of the model. Too cluttered and too silly looking. They should have put some kind of special ops emblems on the chest plate and saved the pockets for a back pack or something. Besides that tho, these are pretty cool looking minis.
It looks a little like he’s wearing slippers, but I do like the model and especially like that it will be customisable
HOLY utility belt Batman!
Looks really interesting compared to the usual bland powered armour figure, thumbs up from me! 🙂
Now that is one chunky monkey!! Absolutely love it. All the gear makes it look purposeful and menacing imo. Would like to see what it looks like with arms and a nice looking gat. Loaded with charisma!!! 10/10 and I VERY rarely give that score, I always try and find something wrong in order to give feedback for progress purposes. Supply a kit for a few units of these and I will have to sell a kidney! 😀
I R one happy Teddybear. 😀 <—see?
Not sure how well these guys would do in close combat. Even with powered armour, that amount of extra gear would be like taking on a Warboss with a load of heavy shopping.
really like the look of these guys, looks like it would take them a long long time to run out of ammo
either that or cigarettes. hehe 🙂
It’s like a space marine, but with pouches instead of purity seals.
I like it, blends habit of reality in with the fiction.
Man that’s a lot of pouches; when did Rob Liefeld start designing minis?
