Alien Dungeon Announce It’s All Quiet On The Martian Front
February 12, 2013 by brennon
Alien Dungeon have their second game in the works with powerful names behind it including Alessio Cavatore and Rick Priestley. Check out some of the teaser images for All Quiet On The Martian Front...
This new game is set as an Alien invasion threatens America and Europe during 1910/11 and will be in 15mm scale. You can see some of the miniature ideas for this game below, along with some concept art...
It certainly sounds like a neat concept and another alternative take on the Weird World War setting. The game is currently in an open beta phase and so if you wish to have some input you can join the forums HERE.
And if you wish to see a little more artwork then you can jump over to this blog post from Alien Dungeon.
This game certainly has a good set of brains working on it so lets hope it pays off!
Are martians giving you shiny syndrome?
I’m really glad this is in 15mm – it’s a scale I’m hoping to get into a bit more as it requires less space, cash and takes less time to paint.
I also love WW1 – well not the colossal death, destruction and mayhem it brought mainly due to stupidity, but as a setting for things it’s great. The images so far give it a kind of “War of the Worlds” vibe – which again is a big plus…
Colour me interested 🙂
Check out this series from some awesome visuals and great storylines…

Sooo SHINY!
With all due respect, Alien Dungeon’s stuff is VERY poor IMO and judging by the images above this new venture doesnt look to be changing that trend at all. The mini’s, whilst fun, look just as bad as their Fanticide range! They really really need to rethink their design / sculpting team to get anywhere i think. Like the concept alot but it counts for nothing with a rubbish line of mini’s. Yet another swing and miss by AD.
I think your missing the 15mm scale part. As most model makers at this scale look like “rubbish” if you look around. Even Flames of War looks rather blocky but thats what the scale can afford.
will agree that the Fanticide range needs some serious help. It looks like a range of models from the 80’s. Some of the lowest quality models I’ve seen in some time.
I was aware of the 15mm scale part and compared against games like FOW these still seem below par. I actually think they are better than the Fanticide stuff but once again their output is doing nothing for me whatsoever.
The above are actually 18mm. And here are some 15mm plastics, cheap as dirt, to put things into perspective; http://theplasticsoldiercompany.co.uk/index.php?main_page=popup_image_additional&pID=130&pic=1&products_image_large_additional=images/PSC_15-Russians_packfront-300px_02.jpg.jpg
The above are still much better than the official Fanticide line, though. Guess price will be the determining factor.
If they go with that tripod good luck trying to pin it to the base.
If you manage that, good luck trying not to break it off again! lol
Fanticide / Otherworld minis are subject to taste, not a “swing and a miss.” Many of the players in my group appreciate the retro 80’s style of Fanticide, and we do indeed play the game in our rotation. I’m excited about the bigger picture — the potential quality of rules for All Quiet on the Martian Front. Fanticide is a solid rule set — strategic yet fluid and fast, cinematic and a bit elegant really. If Priestly and crew do as good of a job with Martian Front 18mm, I think it could elevate Alien Dungeon into a higher level… Read more »
