Models with Camouflage or TO camouflage special skill do provide orders to the order reserve, even if they are represented by a camouflage/ TO camouflage marker.
ARO are declared all at the same point so the camouflaged counter could not wait to see if the Zhansi survived to declare ARO, in the same point, the Dodge would be against all incoming BS attacks so the Zhansi should have been allowed to dodge the shot.
A question about QSR, have omitted the passive -3 BS modifier on the camouflage special skill and structured how short skills are declared for ease of learning?
Yeah i liked it, i really think more of these Battle reports can be only good for Beasts of War, even though you call this a demo. Oh and Andy hey you almost won thats gotta count for something lol 🙂
This game is very interesting. I like the fact with the quick start rules you can play a few games in an hour. You and a few buds could trade off in a mini tournamnet, winners v. winners ect and still have time for a few brews. Awesome!
When you have the full grasp of the rules, full games can last about an hour, the game is fast paced.
Helped by the ARO system both players are effectively playing at the same time and it is known for veterans to plan ahead of the movements and BS attacks they will make in ARO.
That was a great piece. Yes there were a lot of things that they cut out to make it simple but it as great. The things I noticed were, the tacbot has mimitisim which is like camouflage. Even if it’s in the middle of the board with no cover it still would be -3 to hit. Any camo guys that have been discovered or reveal themselves are still -3 to hit. TO camo it’s -6! So if a guy is at long range, mimitisim, and in cover he can be up to -9 to hit!
Hey guys, I’ve seen lots of comment of people wanting to watch a full battle report. Well, make sure to visit the following link. They’re not exactly videos but are very graphical written reports, Infinity is a fast paced action game very cinematic, so the game needs battle reports that reflect that fact. Really worth the watch/read
These videos are a cool start and I love how they’re getting people interested in Infinity, but there’s so much you guys are getting wrong. I hope you can get around to a full-fledged battle report soon, but you have to get the rules right first. Could a local infinity player help out here?
actualy Andy loos hell of oportunitis of aro from standing in the back Tackbot – he got a stright line to all things that Asura got – so in last game turn we dont know that Andy loos – meybe it whas a draw – tacbot got aro to LT so ther should be non oposed roll on Bs 😉
so like in Pirates from Caraibian “it whas the day that you soo Andy almoust Win” 😀
I really like the game mechanics, AROs and spending more than one order to a model is really cool. I think I’ll try some games with the Quickstart-rules, this week.
Great game on your side Andy and Lloyd, it’s fun to look at this one.
Just one question left in my mind, how often did you have to make this game to make Andy loose again?
It is really nice to have videos like these where newbies to the rules like myself can actually follow along and learn with the people in the vids. Andy as always, fantastic job, and Lloyd, great to see you in front of the camera. The rules seem incredibly fluid, and as much as I love playing warmachine, it can be somewhat boring when you have to wait the entire course of your opponent’s turn until you get to do anything, which is why I find the ARO rules so incredible. The back and forth game play is looks so much… Read more »
Now, now play nice 😉 Each to their own. Personally I agree, its the ARO system that really brings and chess like element to the game where you have to constantly think about where you not only place your models but how this will affect your opponents movement. Opens up lots of cool tactics like leaving a deadly sniper watching over one part of a board so your opponent advances down another side and… bam… gets ambushed by a TO Camo close combat beastie like the Oniwaban, that’s a simple ruse, others are way more complex. That’s the thing the… Read more »
love the end…poor Andy and his camera curse
Some errors in vid but not enough to worry about, mind you I havent read the QSR so Im thinking of the full rules
wow, great vid and really easy to understand, just one small question:
if someone shoots at your guy with a burst of 3 and a BS of 13 and rolls 11, 8, 3
you shoot back at him one time from your ARO and roll a 12 do you actually beat all his 3 dice? AND hit him or just only one? and you hit him once and he twice?
that’s bugging me quite some time
P.S.: wow, Andy what did you do to get such bad dice luck?
did you step on a Dice Fairy while hitting over Gary Gygax’ tombstone? oO
If your BS is 12 or more then yes, your single die beats all his dice and you hit him once. A single hit. Furthermore if you BS was 12 then you would have scored a critical hit, which inflicts an automatic wound regardless of the armor. If your BS was 11 or lower then you would fail and suffer three hits from him because all his rolls were succesful.. .
Imagine that face to face rolls as all action in Infinity is cinematic, the AROing model managed to be quicker more alert and hit the aggressor before he managed to press the trigger.
Yes, when making FaceToFace rolls the key point is that the higher successful die of the attacker beats all the inferior succesful dice of the reactive player and the higher succesful die of the reactive player beats all the inferior succeful dice of the attacker. A successful die is any die that scores equal or lower than the target value. Let’s see a clear example. Attacker with BS 13 rolls three dice 11, 8, 3 so the hree of them are a success. The reactive player with BS 14 rolls one die 10. It’s a success too. Now we compare,… Read more »
Loved the demo game. Really liked the out take.
But I have a question. You keep saying that the big main rule book can be downloaded.
My question is; were do I down load the main rules from?
I found a set of rules but they are only 22 pages long. Not what I would call ‘The Big Main Rule Book’.
The Infinity homepage. The rules are split into file with rules and file with army lists. (and then are the files with rules and army lists for Human Sphere, you can ignore those until you learn the game from the rulebook). What you don’t get in the downloads is the background, which makes up more than half of the books, and which is the main incentive to buying the physical books actually. You have everything you need to play the game for free *apart from models naturally*, but if you want to learn more about the factions, you have to… Read more »
Have you visited CB’s Infinity website? in the downloads section –> rules —> rules
Here’s the link http://www.infinitythegame.com/infinity/downloads/rules/%5Ben%5DRules.pdf
59 pages long
Be advised CB gives you the rules, expansion rules, army lists, weapons lists and markers, but fluff is in the books. If you want to read the fluff and art illustrations then you need to buy the books.,
But beyond that all the rules army lists, weapons and templates, everything you need to play is available for free as is an army building program for making army lists.
But the book is really worth its cost for the background and artwork alone.
Just like to echo the comments of my fellow Infinity players on the rulebook. Despite the rules being free (definitely download them to see if you enjoy the game) the full rulebook is well worth the asking price if you like the game. The fluff in Infinity is really, really good.
When Army infinity loads in the main screen that has the badges of each faction, under it is a black line with three flags, press the middle (half English half American) flag and you are in English.
Is this the first time I’ve seen Lloyd rolling dice? You should let him out of his cage more often
Very well done demo game.
Nice dice, Andy. Lloyd just ran out of cover and you still couldn’t win, lol. The Curse!
Good, but I have to point out a few mistakes.

Great video thanks guys – tough luck for Andy, thought he had this one!
Would love to see more of these types of vids.
Bought Call of Cthulhu the card game, and the rule book was very confusing, so watched a game on youtube and now it all makes sense.
This a game were you have to play it out to the end. Even if you think you are winning it can all change very quickly!

Great idea. I think it could’ve been better though.
More talking about the opposed rolls and criticals.

As a sidenote: from you example I understood the attacker had BS 13 but that you dind’t specified the BS of your reactive troop.
right forgot that, so the reacting model with lets say a BS of 13 would really beat all three dice oO? wow….. that has to be quite some shot^^

i have a small probblim when i try to use the army builder it’s in spanish and i dont know how to change it to english.
When Army infinity loads in the main screen that has the badges of each faction, under it is a black line with three flags, press the middle (half English half American) flag and you are in English.
I would like to see more demos as well look forward to it.
well done!
thanks for walking us through all the steps.
Great demo guys think you should make a lot of more demo battles !
Tough luck Andy… some day the dice gods will smile while the camera is rolling.
30 minutes of focused play would be better, but it’s nice to see you guys go through the same pains as the rest of us when learning.
thanks!
Again great game guys. Andy I was pulling for you the whole time. I think I’m going to break down and give this a go.
Aaar
Keep up the work!
Good to see two people enjoying the game. It gets better and better with repeated play.
Ps. The game that is… not the vid 😉
Brilliant.
Now let’s see a bigger game with more of the actual rules. (And I’ll be rooting for you Andy!)
