Ainsty Castings Robbed!
June 18, 2012 by beerogre
That's right guys... the grubby paws of the thieving classes knows no bounds... from the Under the Mountain Blog:
“While preparing for his weekend shows, Andy Lyon of Ainsty’s van was robbed:
All my boxes of show stock are gone, all my display models and figures are gone and all my boxed pieces for on the bottom of the racks are gone. Two racks of blistered minis are gone too.
“It has a substantial retail value plus is about a years worth of stock that he’s built up.
“If anyone sees boxed Ainsty stuff, Crooked Dice and Rogue Miniatures blisters being sold on the cheap let me (or Andy direct) know.
“I painted up most of the CD display figures for him and Paul V2 the Rogues… so if you see any of those on eBay shout out.”
There's currently a discussion going on in the forums that you can join HERE.
But if you spot anything dodgy on eBay or perhaps you're local and something at a car boot sale catches your eye. Then you can contact Andy directly using the Ainsty Castings Contact Form.
Here are a few examples of the stuff that might be missing:
Here are the affected websites to check out and if you want to help the guys out and get yourself some cool terrain or models, you might fancy picking up a few things...
I bet it was the mysterons!
I bet it was the as sholes.
So much for a sense of humour… =/
I find your post funny … academically. As is, I hold personal possession to be “sacred”, especially in case where someone works hard and sacrifices as much as most of the “companies” in this “industry” do.
(I don’t find your post deserving of a “-” though, I’m quite certain you don’t actually think what happened to them was funny and feel no need to punish you for anything)
As do I, what has befallen Ainsty castings is awful and I hope they retrieve their stock.
Don’t give up yet! Practice, practice, practice and listening to feedback, and you’ll get there, eventually.
what a nightmare- when funds allow I will be looking closely at the stuff they have as I fancy a few bits
That’s terrible news, especially for a small business.
I would think it must be hard for a thief to sell off a large amount of these kinds of specialty items?
Which is why they might well have destroyed the stuff out of spite when they realised it was ‘just little model men’ and not a load of HDTVs…makes me sick thinking about that. I hope the stock is recovered instead. 🙁
I am really sorry to hear about this. Andy must be furious and devastated. Not only does he have to fight with the material loss (which for such a small business is no doubt substantial), all the personal work that he has put into preparing for the show is basically smashed now.
I really hope that Andy gets the stuff back somehow.
