You’re not alowed fortifications at Gaelcon
Yes you are. The rulespack for gaelcon was updated recently to allow aegis defence lines but no other types of fortifications. it is also states this in the forum topic on W-ired.org/forums. this was changed because the tournament organiser realised that it was an unfair disadvantage to those armies that do not have access to flyers.
Ah! I see. Thank you for correcting me.
I can not seem to find how RP gets a force axe what FAQ should I be looking at?
Never mind found, it must have been asleep when I checked that part of rule book
I think landraiders full of combat orientated terminators would be pretty tough to deal with
Let’s say ten missile launchers a turn, re rolling to hit so let’s be generous and say they all hit. From that, 2 sixes. Do the same again… yes, you could nobble one landraider, but three would be difficult.
Darrel’s army is the greatest power for evil in the lower mainland of British Columbia. Other armies totally underestimate his power, but then: BOOM! Rune Priest! BOMM Blood Claws! They will go around and totally mess them up from the side!
@titamiva – please edit your post to remove the swear words. Young children read this site. Darrell, I’m probably being thick but why are you taking the Aegis defence line? The cover save from going to ground? That’ll stop the unit firing the next turn though, surely? I assume the cover save is a 4+ by default without going to ground, or are you taking it just for the quad gun? It is a tough list but I think you’d struggle against daemons dropping around you with icons to knock out the heavy weapons but 45 blood claws? Without soul… Read more »
Guys! Put the army lists underneath!
It’s so handy to keep in reference.
could probably write a nid list to deal with this. tyranid warriors are very underrated, there’s not many power armour guys that they have problems with
How do you get 3 rune priests into 2 HQ slots?
SW can take 2 units on one HQ slot.
This^^ at 2k+ points you can have 8 Rune Priests. That could be a lot of living lightnings and some prescience just for laughs 😀
Found it in the codex, thanks
found this too
“To represent this, no two Independent Characters may bear
the same saga, nor may they bear the same psychic powers or
wargear combination.
Not sure, but 3 identical rune priests breaks this rule?
Yeah it does, I’m assuming Darrell missed something off his list. Pretty easy to buy them something like a meltabomb or give one a force sword or bolter to make them different.
No so super cheesy. This is space wolves now. So many people don’t bring mech my poor scarabs are getting hungry. I think my all comers list has a chance. Turtle up with Imotekh and torrent the blood claws. They are on foot so will take a while to cross the board. Your only chance would be to move forward with the long fangs snap firing to bring the pain. Cover saves when you torrent is no bother. When you are packing high strength and quality AP it is a pain. I will see how my list fairs in a… Read more »
how many points is this?
I make it 1850
Seems like a cool list i am just concerned about what happens when an Imperial Gaurd player drops some battle cannon pie plates on you?!? or even worse what happens if a vidicator drops a pie plate on ya??
Nice List….too bad it’s illegal. You’re not allowed to have 3 Runepriest all with the same equipment! Anyways, this seems like a incredible boring list to play with….I guess Darrell doesn’t care about stuff like that but yeah… I think giving the terminator that stays to eat bullets for the long fangs doesn’t need a shield, the 4 up save from the aegis line should be just fine for him in my opinion…. The list is definitely powerful (i have played lists like that for fun as well every now and then and it definitely works) you might get some… Read more »
there useing there basic kit they have no equipment hes just picking the shape of the force weapon he already has
not haveing the same psychic power part is the real problem
no @ichshadon is still correct, they cannot have identical wargear whether it’s just the base equipment or not. the simple solution is to give 1 melta bombs and another a chooser, that varies the wargear and isn’t heavy on the points.
just checked the codex and you can swap pistol for bolter at no cost. So you would only have to pay for the 3rd RP to change his gear
i have a loganwing list in the works involving rune priests and shooty termies with combi-weapons, storm shields, assault cannons & cyclone missile launchers with perhaps one guy in each unit equiped with a power axe…just wish grimnar had a storm shield.
Nice shots of the toilet. Just started working on a Space Wolf army and this gave me some ideas.
wildcardtbc, the three psi-powers are okay because in the SW faq they are all allowed to use the new powers even if there all the same because they are “random” of course they can all take the primaris power and still be “random” – cheezy but true
I would be tempted to disagree with that, as the codex itself states no identical powers, it doesn’t state how you end up with them, just that they have to be different. and taking the primis power is a player choice, not the roll of a dice.
rune priests get 2 powers, so even if the primaris power is picked the other one is still random
Help me out.
Skyfire says you get to shoot with full BS as skimmers. I can’t find anything in the rule book that says there is a penalty for shooting at skimmers. I see they get jink, but I don’t see anything that says you have to snap fire at them. What am I missing?
-Rich
Good point Rich, Skimmers don’t get the Hard To Hit rule so there’s no snap firing at them.
