5 Days Remain to Fund the Wild West Exodus
March 13, 2013 by dracs
Wild West Exodus is one of the most exciting new games we have seen and the success of the kickstarter definitely reflects this. With only a few more days left to get in on the funding we thought we'd see what else we can expect to see coming out of the Wild West.
The kickstarter is currently sitting at $237,598, with funds now working towards bringing us wave 2 of these hired hands, the twisted creations of Dr. Carpathian and Eiffel.
There will also be a couple of terrain pieces, like these rail road tacks, as well as the everyday citizens of this brutal Wild West.
If you want to see what all the fuss is about, be sure to check out the series of how to play videos on the kickstarter page (the first of which I have attached to the article).
If you want to get in on this new game you better chip in soon. Head over to the kickstarter now.
WOW!! these look awesome. Wish I knew about this earlier 😀
Shooting people in the face for fun? Sure why not!
Chibi can you come here please? I want to unload my weapon in your face 😀
I missed Dreadballs kickstarter. I’m not missing another chance for cheap minis on a game I really want to try!!!
Go for your guns. It’s wild west exodus
This just reminds me of that awful film, Wild Wild West. Gonna say “No Thanks” to this thing.
Because it says Wild west?
I watched the film ages ago and can remember not liking it much, but I can’t remember any of it now, but I don’t recall the manipulative Dark Council there 😀
I am up for the Warrior Nation models. I think it’s the Hired Hands that suck me in the most, so can’t wait for wave 2!
Well they are getting $1000 from me, will make a nice crossover combo for my Gorka Morka models and expand that game, since GW never finished that range.
@Mattgro,
Touché that man, good call!! Pulling legs off of Eiffle FTW!! 😛 hehe
the Heavies will look great for GM trucks, especially the Outlaw one. 🙂
Was planning a similar thing with dark eldar as they are pirates anyway. 🙂
This is the newest update just in number 73: I think these guys definitely look a lot better imho. As a lot of people said the old ones looked to static and meh. The should look quite nice with the wave 2 as there seems to be a lot of diversity now. Still hasn’t changed my mind on Warrior Nation though. But I will get all the Enlightened bosses and maybe a starter of these to practice shooting in the face Just thinking that a afew of their body parts could look like nice scatter terrain? Not sure how many… Read more »

Nice minis but nothing ground breaking in the mechanics. That is so far….
I highly recommend giving this podcast a listen:
http://gamerslounge.coda.net/2013/03/08/gamers-lounge-special-wild-west-exodus/
I backed it at first but, to me, it’s getting too big too fast, Of course I could keep it at skirmish level, but that’s not how the collector in me works.
I would have rather liked it if the stayed with the starters and maybe some terrain pieces instead of a whole armies and a f’n train.
Now I’m backing the Hell Dorado kickstarter which is more my pace and style.
This is the problem i have with Kickstarters, I like some or all of the initial stuff and would be happy with that. Then they hit the goal and start adding more and more stuff. In my position with this particular one there are only a handful of figs like spread across the entire range. I would have to pledge about £325 to get those few i like and the rest would just sit in a box gathering dust. Also with a lot of these kickstarters the sculpts start to suffer and seem rushed out, the Enlightened Hired hands just… Read more »
Just buy the individual models then Mark?
Whilst Enlightened are my 4th choice, they are other peoples first, so I guess it is just a matter of getting what suits you mate. If you don’t like them, more reason to shoot them in the face quicker, hehe.
I have posted a pic of the new wave 2 Outlaws……. may want to check them out, just saying 😉
Not really an option with Kickstarter seeing as the stuff has not hit retail, you are also assuming the game will appeal to enough people to warrant retailer to stock it
You can buy models on their own. Place a $45 pledge for Nasty level, which gives you $45 to spend on add-ons, then if you want anything else you add additional funds but still pledge for the Nasty. Winner Winner, chicken dinner. 🙂
There are already stockists who have pledged 😉
Also I think the rules are kind of bland, nothing really that makes me go ‘hmm, that’s interesting.’
So all the special chr abilities that they in the midlle of producing, the multiple actions, being able to take civilians hostage, climb up buildings, zombies with bombs on……… Yup really bland 😛
Oh and 150 different chrs already been identified by the design crew!!
Nope nothing really innovative in there. It looks like a watered down Warmachine. The touted innovative “influence” mechanic is just some rerolls and doesn’t make sense.
And the chance to gain Initiative of the turns???? can’t say that they are bland rules because the half description that you are tailoring to your argument. 🙂 hehe
No not innovative. The rules don’t capture the essence of the setting. They only really involve shooting and melee. They’re not horrible, but as maddgame said “bland”. It’s not surprising though since most miniature games are like that. They could really take some lessons from board game design. We’re talking about westerns here, a lot of things could be done. They could start by using things like cards, poker chips, or at least regular game dice. Have stunts, destructible terrain, stare downs, and duels. Have rules for alcohol. Make it like Necromunda where your posse gets experience and renown. All… Read more »
Someone mentioned about the destructible buildings, which could be fun (due to TNT).
Also civilians can be included in the game, I am hoping with time. That they may even start picking fights when entering their homes or bars etc.
You have to remember that these are the early stage rules (Charlie rule set). Alessio is still to update them for the Beta and then for the Alpha. I am sure things will get balanced out when they receive feedback from the community. They have been very responsive so far. 🙂
Wave 2 Hired Hands for the Outlaws. 😀 A lot of hype about these!! and justifiably so.

Update for some of the re-sculpted figures.
Love the Outlaws with the long jackets and heavy armour. I think my main faction may be between Outlaws and Warrior Nation now. Will have to wait till wave 2 of the light vehicles I think 🙂

For some reason your reply won’t let me reply o.0 “Nasty – Pick any add-on item from the list and make up your own mini posse. Call this money in the bank until you’re ready to select your unlocked items. A survey will be sent at the end of the campaign to help you choose the items you want.” The quot above is form the WWX Kickstarter page It’s ONLY add-on items so if like me you like a bit fig from each starter set and a few of the other bits this does not help. The only KS that… Read more »
You can pick solo figures. Look on the add-on part of the KS howe page. You choose them from there, Had 33 people doing just that (you can find this on the right hand side of the page) 🙂
Phone me and I will talk you through it if you like. Or let me know what you want and I will add it to mine to reduce the P&P? choice is there 🙂
sigh
Am i really not making myself clear? Some of the figs i like are add-on items some are not and do not qualify for the Nasty pledge level. the £325 is roughly the amount i would need to pay to get the all the figs i like. This is not just a problem with WWX but most war games KS’s
Which items did you want?
Really like the minis, really don’t like the rules. Maybe I’ll pick up some of those great models for Malifaux stand ins. If nothing else I will be grabbing some of that terrain, Microarts hits another home run
Ok I dont know who it is, but someone is arbitrarily down ranking the comments that @broadside is making, He has kept us abreast of updates reference this game that looks stunning and is a great part of this community, for this I thank him, and will ‘adjust’ his ratings for his posts I feel have been unfairly judged. Keep up the good work my man!
Thank you for your kind word Demyse. 🙂 I think haters will always hate, but to act in such a way shows that they are also capable of fear. 😛 hehe Which always baffles me in all honesty. I am sure no harm is done though mate, as I adamant that the mature population of this community is able to view the contents subjectively and without looking at thumbs. 😛 In fact, if they start looking at my thumbs instead of the mini’s and the rules then I think I’m gonna feel a tad uncomfortable, hehe. Only 3 days left… Read more »
im in at the $115 level, enough to get me 2 forces to play against, have been since day 1, just waiting for that elusive lottery win to up my pledge
What factions you going for, if you don’t win the lottery? 🙂
I really like Warrior Nation, Outlaws, Union, Enlightened. Not sure if to get small groups of all factions, or 2 small and one large so I can try the big battles as well as skirmish, although it will be a skirmish game for me first.
outlaws and warrior nation, or outlaws and lawmen if they get the funding that far
Love the Wave 2 Outlaws, they may just swing into my top spot. Gonna wait until I see the wave 2 LSV’s before making my choice I think. And we have a surprise at $300k, which could swing it again, lol. it certainly is a roller-coaster of a ride. 🙂
