If you play any 15mm battle games, then you might be interested in come of the new models from ArtCrime Productions.
You can get these models from ACP Games, and we look forward to seeing more 15mm sci-fi models soon.
ArtCrime’s infantry and powered suits are top notch stuff in 15mm scale. A shame that the same can’t be said about their first venture in to bigger vehicles. The APCs are a little on the small side to actually fit the six troopers inside (a lingering problem also in 28mm) and the design reminds me too much of the Imperial Guard Chimera. The Makat stuff on the other hand looks quite funky.
I think most of the size issue is because the infantry is sculpted “heroically” in a lot of ranges a Cadian or a Cygnar trencher is in your head the average squaddie around about 5 foot 10 to 6 foot tall, but he’s sculpted about 33mm tall in a scale were the vehicles are roughly worked out as 6 feet= 25-28mm, and 15mm actually makes this seem more pronounced and the models seem much taller compared to vehicles since the base ads about a lot more to their height in scale- even 1mm ads about 4 or 5 inches. ArtCrime’s infantry is actually little bigger than other 15mm manufactures. At least when comparing to Ground Zero Games stuff I mostly use. ArtCrime’s infantry in a little bit on the heroic side (big rifles, burly bodyarmour). Their minis stand around 17-18mm from head to toe (not including the cast base). Which isn’t really a bad thing as I’m mostly fielding them as commandoes in light powed armour or in hazardeous environment suits, whichever suits the scenarios played. But your right about the bases, the rised base makes the minis look much bigger.
