Get Started In SAGA With Gripping Beast’s Roman Warband

Gripping Beast has now added a new Roman Warband into the mix for those playing games of SAGA. These particular warriors are good for use in Aetius & Arthur.

This set comes with twenty-five different miniatures, all of which are plastic which is nice for beginners diving into the game. You get one Warlord, four Hearthguard (mounted) and four Hearthguard (on foot) plus eight warriors with spears and shields and eight warriors carrying bows.

This gives you a solid array of foot soldiers and cavalry for use in your games, opening up tactical options which should make it easy to play as an attacker or defender.

Playing as these late Arthurian Romans would be a lot of fun I reckon. I like the idea that you could even twist this into an Age Of Magic force as well if you wanted to bring in a little more of the Arthurian myth and legend instead of its spotty history. Add a dragon into the mix perhaps!
