SAGA Plastic Warbands Available At Reading Warfare Show
November 3, 2015 by brennon
Gripping Beast are making the new Plastic 4pt Warbands for SAGA available on November 16th but they will be on sale at the Reading Warfare show over the 14th and 15th if you'd like to get a head start on the building of a new warband to raid the Dark Ages with...
If you're looking to get started in the game then this could be a nice easy way of doing so. It gives you a range of different sprues from both their armoured and un-armoured Dark Age range to make both Warriors and Hearthguard for both sides.
Unfortunately it doesn't give you the additional special options like Dane Axe wielding Saxons (as far as I remember there are no Dane Axes on the Saxon sprues) or Berserkers for the Vikings but they are easily snapped up as a metal blister pack from the rest of their range.
This could make things much easier for folks trying to get into the world of SAGA. Maybe they'll even team up with other manufacturers to make the Normans possible too?
What do you think of the boxes?

Nice starter sets, but I think I’ll stick to the metal miniatures.
Looks great! It’s always good to see a company lower the entry price to its games putting it within the monthly pocket money range for my kids
Awesome! I was looking at these the other day. I hope they do Byzantines in plastic soon
Great to see the price for this game getting less, and it was already so cheap!
Can see this being popular with people who want to build up the force from skirmish -> ranked combat games, as well as their intended use.
Damn – that’s me started on Sage this month then (providing there’s any left when I get there…)
Hope this proves successful and helps more people get into the game. I’m going to Warfare it will be interesting to see how well they sell.
Here I go again: more Saxons and more Vikings lol.
Hmm one of the two sets has Dane axes. Maybe it’s the full size Viking box? I remember setting them aside for my Saxons.
I’d go for the non-Saga box sets. Especially for the Saxons who love lots of boots on the ground; lots of levy.
Wow an RRP of £22, that is cheap!
