Winds Of Magic & New Adventures For Warhammer Fantasy Role-Play
May 17, 2022 by brennon
Cubicle 7 is updating The Old World and diving deep into more adventures and options for those playing Warhammer Fantasy Role-Play. We start with a couple of adventures and expansions that are available digitally.
The Night Parade // Warhammer Fantasy Role-Play
The first of these adventures is a creepy encounter with the undead on the roads of the Empire called The Night Parade. Here's the background...
"Along the Empire’s roads, the dead walk. Called from their slumber by a necromancer’s profane whispers, or buried where dark magic saturates the ground, these Undead march without rest, adding to their number with each hapless soul they cross. Whether such bands move with a purpose or wander aimlessly, they often find themselves the centre of folk tales. Many a terrified tavern audience has gathered around the fire to hear stories of wild hunts, ghostly processions, and corpse-laden carts come to carry away the unwary. Of these, one story has risen to prominence. If you wander through the fertile lands between the Grey Mountains and the Reikwald Forest, listen always for the sounds of creaking wheels and a tolling bell. Do not wait to ask the carriage for a lift. Hide. Cover your ears. And whatever you do, do not follow where the bell leads. The Night Parade are calling."
The Night Parade follows a band of wandering undead that have been drawn together by the ancient Liche known as Old Jasper. Included within are full rules and adventure hooks for running into the Night Parade alongside ways to introduce Corpse Carts, Liche Corpsemasters, Liche Lords, Wights, Wight Champions and the Mass Grave Dead into your games. It's a REALLY good tome if you want to send shivers down the spines of your adventuring party.
This particular adventure was also written by Sam Poots who you will no doubt remember from OnTableTop and Beasts Of War. So, give him a bit of support if you can! He has done a great job here and there are some neat nods to his very own Warhammer Fantasy Role-Play campaign (which I'm in!) which is fun!
The Emperor's Wrath
Following on from an encounter with the undead, we also have a mystery to solve surrounding a Steam Tank, the Emperor's Wrath.
The Emperor's Wrath // Warhammer Fantasy Role-Play
Steam Tanks are some of the quirkiest additions to Empire armies on the tabletop and you'll find rules inside for using them in your roleplaying games here! In addition to that, there is also a mystery where you need to work out what happened to the Emperor's Wrath on the roads of the Empire. You will also find rules and background for Bog Mummies, Ancient Wights and more that haunt the fens and mires of The Old World.
Winds Of Magic Coming Soon
Finally, we had another big book release that is slated to be coming soon. Magic is treated with both reverence and fear within The Old World and this new book, Winds Of Magic, offers up a way to harness these terrible powers.
Winds Of Magic // Warhammer Fantasy Role-Play
The book will dive into the different spells, rites and more that are performed by the various Colleges Of Magic within The Old World. This means new kit and accessories for spellcasters (both legal and illegal!) alongside a bevvy of new spells to choose from. This is great for spellcasters who, up until now, have just had to make do with the spells in the core rules for the most part!
As well as the regular book above, there is also going to be a Collector's Edition that is distinctly in-world.

The book takes on the appearance of a proper grimoire. It has a faux-leather cover embossed with details of Pranoth's Wheel and the various symbols of the Colleges Of Magic. I can't wait to see what this is like in person!
New adventures and more await those playing Warhammer Fantasy Role-Play. So, have fun!

Great stuff for players.
If I ever had to get back into roleplaying, it would be this. I am so familiar with the Old World of Warhammer – it’s like being at home. I am happy Cubicle 7 have kept it alive. Having said that I doubt I will ever have the time to dive back in. Maybe in my pension years!
