An Update to the Otherworld Eye of Terror!
May 16, 2011 by beerogre
Otherworld Miniatures is one of the premier purveyors of generic fantasy miniatures in the world.
That's only my opinion of course... but I'm right!
You may have seen my previous report on the beholder Eye of Terror.
Well, there has been an update to that fantastic kits, which will allow you to customise your beholder Eye of Terror to create an Eye of the Deep... the aquatic counterpart to the fearsome floating orb-beast.
There is also an alternate sculpt available for the original Eye...
Fantastic stuff, I can feel the purse strings loosening as we speak... my wife will not be pleased...

I love these, apart from the arms they remind me of the red-floaty-blob-demons in DOOM. 🙂
Doom copied the design from D&D Beholders… which are nothing like Otherworld’s Eye of Terror… not at all… no way! 😀
No sir-ee ! No beholders here. Nor Eye Tyrants for that matter. Just big blobby floating eyes.
To many people, they won’t look very realistic or well sculpted… It’s quite the opposite ! They look uncannily like the very first art drawn for the original D&D beholder… Er… I mean… What a coincidence !

By the way, I believe the red-floaty-blob demons in DOOM are called Cacodemons. And I feel old just thinking I played the first version of that game…

the bottom one looks like he’s just remembered a joke his mate told him last night. the other one looks frustrated not angry just annoyed like he dropped his chip because of his damn crab hands. both epic.
I just don’t get why they have utters?

Umm…udders either…

9 out of 10 people can’t tell the difference between stalk and utter.
(One for the older members.)
Love the way they have been painted
also that they have character which can’t be easy to create on what is essentially an eyeball with limbs (and dangly dugs)
AAAAAAAAAAAGH!!! Its looking at meee! D:
Meh, I kinda like them but not too sure – look maybe a little bit too static and comedic for my taste, but then again its better than the Wizards sculpts.
