The dark and gritty pages of both Laird and Eastman kept me comfortable growing up. The fearsome adventures of The Teenage Mutant Ninja turtles kept me company, facing up against the Mighty Shredder and his petrifying cohort of Foot Soldiers, and the looming threat of the Kraang. Master Splinter and his sons took to the Streets of New York to face evil where their turtally awesome ninja fighting abilities allowed them to.

Mutants In The Now - Drive Thru RPG

Julian Kay's Mutants In The Now // Drive Thru RPG

Julian Kay's Mutants in the Now did incredibly well on Kickstarter, from J. K Games, inspired by the 80s/90s roleplaying title. Brings players a chance to fight as a skilled anthropomorphic animal that had been corrupted in its own unique way - alike the turtles and their mutagen. Whether it be through radiation or chemical imbalance - these super hybrids were thrust upon the world to do good and take names. And potentially eat a lot of pizza.

Mutants In The Now - Core Book And Expansion

Mutants In The Now // Core Book And Expansion

The next instalment to the Mutants in the Now zine has now appeared on Kickstarter, bringing the Mutants in the Next expansion. With more hybrid species, more villains to face up against and a ton of content to see you fit for fighting crime. Truly expanding on the core game, there are hundreds upon hundreds of additions spanning 120 pages.

If you are new to Mutants in the Now, you can get hold of both copies including Mutants in the Next as part of the Super Mutant pledge, providing both in PDF Format. Or you can download yourself a copy on DriveThruRPG.

The artwork screams classic turtles to me, but also immediately brings me familiarity with the IDW's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles modern comic book artwork. Showcasing characters such as Metelisa, a mutant polar bear and St. Blue, the "bluebird of hackiness". Sophie Campbell is both artist and writer of IDW'S Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles; a wonderful addition to the incredibly talented team.

The Kickstarter is choc-a-bloc full of incredible content which comes alongside the PDF. If you hold a candle to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles alike me, and want to witness your own standpoint in a mutated world of crime-fighting anthropomorphic creatures - be sure to check out the newest expansion Mutants in the Next, and RPG Mutants in the Now, with just over a day on the clock!

Who is your favourite Ninja Turtle and why? Donatello for me!
