The One Ring RPG Solo ‘Strider Mode’ Rules Available Now
June 7, 2022 by fcostin
The pathways across Mirkwood forest and down the great Anduin are no place for a mere lone adventurer. Rife with orcs, goblins and spiders (oh my!), brave warriors skilled to protect themselves and have enough might to survive alone.
The One Ring RPG // Strider Mode Preview
Free League Publishing has now released Strider Mode if you are brave enough to walk the lands of Middle-earth alone in The One Ring Roleplaying Game. Bringing a new way to play the game, and a cheeky heads up to our favourite brooding Dúnedain.
Providing additional rules and tweaks to the rules on DriveThruRPG, players will be invited to journey on their Jack Jones with guidelines, and tables to throw themselves into a journey for treasure, heroic deeds and personal discovery across Middle-earth.
The One Ring RPG Core Book // Free League Publishing
There is only a digital release available over on DriveThruRPG, with no news that this will be made as a hard copy. But for $4.99 - that's certainly no feat if you already have your Core Rules. If you do just have The Starter Set, you will need access to more information if you want to adapt your game to a solitary one, so make sure you have your sturdy Core Book to hand before tweaking. That's to say - there's no reason you cannot play through the Shire-filled antics in the core box solo when you are ready to go!
I am certainly interested in seeing how The One Ring RPG plays solo, will maybe see about taking Thistle back to Hobbiton. I doubt she will last long in the likes of Mirkwood or Arnor on her own! She'd just be rolling around in her stolen treasure. Right next to the stack of Shadow Points she has... from stealing it all unconventionally.
Think you'll be giving the solo rules a try?
