Monolith are also on Kickstarter right now with a new campaign looking to bring their Conan roleplaying game to life! Conan: The Hyborian Age - The Roleplaying Game will drop you into a world of Pulp Fantasy adventure!
Conan: The Hyborian Age RPG // Monolith
Set against the backdrop of Robert E. Howard's Hyborian Age, King Conan now sits on the throne of Aquilonia and so it is up to other brave warriors and scoundrels to make a name for themselves. The themes of your games in Monolith's new roleplaying game are heroic, pulp adventures with larger-than-life characters facing dramatic events where they are the focus.
Tombs, jungles, cities and beyond are all ready for you to explore alongside terrible threats from the other peoples of the world and monsters that are beyond comprehension.
Conan: The Hyborian Age - Corebook // Monolith
If you'd like to try out the game for yourself, Monolith has put together a great Quickstart Adventure for you to dive into HERE. This comes with pre-generated characters and a full story for you to play out which should take up an evening session. Want to know more? I gave my thoughts on the preview HERE, talking mechanics and more.
At its heart, the new roleplaying game from Monolith is packed with adventure, big risk and reward moments, plenty of sword and sorcery action and mechanics that drive the story forward. The Core Book (above) contains a set of simple and easy-to-learn rules, rules for making characters, loads of enemies to battle, two pre-written adventures to start you off and background on The Hyborian World and Age so you can understand the setting in more detail.
If you're interested in getting stuck in, the options from Monolith cover the Corebook as well as Tales of the Hyborian Age which feature numerous campaigns for you to dive into. A solid way to start if you're a storyteller seeking some inspiration.

Tales Of The Hyborian Age: Volume II // Monolith
As well as the books, you can also get a bunch of accessories to help with your adventures. You can get the GM Screen and companion below which comes with aids for helping a storyteller in the heat of the moment.
GM Screen & Companion // Monolith
I love a good screen and booklets that are useful for getting you out of a bind during the middle of a campaign! It helps that all the artwork looks gorgeous across both the GM Screen and also the books we've seen previewed!
Pledge Options
There are plenty of different ways for you to get involved with the Kickstarter. You can start small with just the Corebook in PDF or go big with a pledge like this one!
Adventurer Pledge // Monolith
The Adventure Pledge comes with the Corebook and the two adventure tomes plus the GM Screen and Companion alongside PDFs AND some thematic dice which will be handy for your adventuring.
Because this is also Monolith, creators of the Conan board game, you can also go for the King Pledge which comes with all of the above PLUS a massive set of miniatures and the battle maps.
King Pledge // Monolith
If you already own the Conan board game then you'll have plenty of miniatures to help out. I do like this option for those who want to go all out with their campaigns. I like that you get little pieces of furniture in the set as well to help give your battle maps that 2.5d look.
Add-ons also allow you to go in and pick and choose elements of your pledge plus Stretch Goals are adding to the Core Book as well as offering new accessories for backers. Could you be tempted by tales of high adventure and this new Conan roleplaying game from Monolith?

It’s an RPG, why is there so many minis?! oO
They really want to upset Gerry (it also doesn’t need the minis btw, they are just a bonus)
GM: “you enter a room with tables, chairs, and people drinking a smelly beverage – what do you do?”
Conan: “SMASH people! BURN furniture! DRINK smelly beverage!”
GM: “You have won the game, Conan!”
Get barbaric!
I backed the Modiphius Conan RPG and that was ok, but the talent trees were a nightmare. Also picked up a box of Conan board game at retail and that’s still gathering dust. Over the years I bought a lot of stuff I didn’t need and most of it just sitting there. Not had a look at the quickstart yet, but I have downloaded it. £125 for the core book plus 18 adventures is not bad and for another £60 you get 221 miniatures which is pretty good price, but they already have the moulds for those presumably. Monolith don’t… Read more »
