Onyx Path Preview Their New Storypath System
August 11, 2016 by dracs
Onyx Path have released a free to download preview of their new Storypath System, which is tied to their work on the long standing RPGs Trinity Continuum and Scion.
Onyx Path developed the new Storypath System when they reportedly realised that the games Scion and Trinity Continuum had very similar needs mechanically wise. Scion is a game where players take on the role of the mortal descendants of the gods living in the modern world, while Trinity Continuum lets you become one of the Inspired, essentially becoming super-heroes.
These games have a far more action-adventure focus than the horror focused games of the World of Darkness so Onyx Path have developed this new system to allow for this.
The Storypath System was designed as a new set of rules, inspired by the legacy of the Storyteller and Storytelling Systems, in addition to other story-centric rules. The Storypath System keeps the focus on narrative, story-built play, and action-adventure. It also draws inspiration from a number of other influences that focus on a cinematic high-octane action and storytelling, as well, to create a streamlined experience for epic stories.

This new preview lets players come to grips with the new rules, as well as providing examples for both Scion and Trinity Continuum. Having never played either of them, but being very interested in the urban fantasy genre, this sounds like the perfect system for some modern day focused adventures. I'll be interested to hear what people think of it.
Have you played Scion or Trinity Continuum? Do you plan to get to grips with this new preview?
