Plane Shift: Innistrad Comes To Dungeons & Dragons

That's right. That fantastic plane of Innistrad has gotten a D&D twist courtesy of the wizards at Wizards of the Coast in Plane Shift: Innistrad. This experience is not intended to mimic the style of Magic the Gathering in a role playing game, with five colors of mana or ramping up spells or anything like that.
The intent is to allow you to experience experience the worlds of Magic through the lens of D&D. The download is available now at dragonmag.com.
This is one of those interesting crossover game points that may very well open up a new style of gaming for people. A loyal Magic player may be enticed to play a game of D & D with some friends when exploring Innistrad, and conversely, a D&D player that's never tried Magic may be willing to give it a try after experiencing a taste of the worlds.
What do you think of this creative way to crossover game sets?

Well this is interesting idea to say that least and one that makes lot of sense. After all this is new way to introduce new people to MtG by introducing them to one of planes in multiverse and possible getting more DnD players pick up MtG as well that makes WotC more money than DnD.
I can remember conversations 20 years ago around the game table about … “why aren’t there Magic the gathering settings/campaigns for D&D???” AND … “Why aren’t there D&D magic sets” … they could do forgotten realms, greyhawk, etc. etc. (anyone remember spellfire) … even if they didn’t do the D&D stuff as something core, but just in a duel deck format … I just don’t get why they didn’t do that years ago and why there aren’t even more cross promo efforts going.
I’d buy into a ‘Forgotten Realms’ Magic set like nobody’s business…
Seems like a pretty clever idea to me. With the release of the Innistrad expansion for the “Battle of the Planeswalkers” game, there’s also a nicely affordable batch of 28mm figures available for those who like to work miniatures into their RPG’s.
So many other fantasy and sci-fi properties have RPG’s it’s a wonder that MTG doesn’t already have one and of course D&D represents a pretty obvious corporate synergy. The only real question is why this is a dragon mag article and not a retail product.
