Onyx Path Release the 2nd Ed. of Werewolf: The Forsaken
March 10, 2015 by dracs
The second edition rule book for the popular RPG Werewolf: The Forsaken has been released by Onyx Path Publishing and is now available on Drive Thru RPG.
Werewolf: The Forsaken is set in the New World of Darkness universe. Players take on the role of the Uratha, werewolves tasked with keeping the balance and fighting against the Idigam, spirits of things that never existed that have been imprisoned since before time began.
This new book builds upon the rules of the previous edition and according to Onyx Path includes:
- The complete guide to playing a werewolf in the World of Darkness.
- Reimagined tribes, auspices, and spirit magic to create the ultimate predator and her pack.
- A brand new look at werewolf hunting grounds around the world, from Basra to Tokyo.
- Rules for the werewolves’ prey, and five examples of the idigam.
While I have always preferred the old World of Darkness over the new, it is still good to see the series alive and well. In both old and new formats, World of Darkness RPGs focus heavily upon narrative, which is what I enjoy most about role playing. The release of the new edition of Werewolf: The Forsaken should open up new gaming opportunities for long established fans and hopefully bring in some new players too.
Do you like Werewolf: The Forsaken? Which World of Darkness game is your favourite?

Wow. That brings me back… One of my favorite roleplaying character of all time was a Glasswalker ragabash back when Werewolf: The Apocalypse was the flavour of the day… I had a huge collection of White Wolf roleplaying games at that time… Good old days. 🙂

My favourite role-playing system I reckon – I love Werewolf: The Apocalypse and playing as a Get of Fenris Galliard. My first character however was a Silent Strider Ahroun, or maybe it was a Red Talon Ahroun – one of the two!
Forsaken was pretty good too and took out a lot of the insanity and cheaty things from the first game. Nice to see it’s getting a second edition.

On Darker Days Radio recently we covered the up coming changes and features of Mage teh Awakening 2nd Ed. http://podcast.darker-days.org/e/darker-days-radio-episode-62/
So in a couple of months we will be reviewing WtF 2e.
I loved werewolf when I was in my late teens (I think it appeals to geeky alienated youths) , but I never realised they’d changed the background.
