Onyx Path To Launch WoD Demon Kickstarter Today!

The World of Darkness is getting another chance in the limelight thanks to The Onyx Path as they take Demon: The Descent onto Kickstarter for another funding spree.
In the original Demon you took on the role of Angels who have been cast out of heaven by God. With the wars of Heaven still fresh in the mind of some you pick a faction and house much like other World of Darkness games and see if you can bring your plans to fruition.
I was only able to do one session of this when the book first came out and I enjoyed it immensely. I don't think we had enough time to really get in depth with it but it was pretty awesome using your apocalyptic form.
I'm fairly sure nowadays I'd just try and be Tyrael from Diablo!
Brennon, I think the overview your have written if anything is more fitting for Demon: the Fallen, and not Demon: the Descent.
I would suggest a finding a better description, since you play Demons, but not in the Christian/Jewish/Islamic sense, and in this setting the God you mention, is the God Machine (so this overlaps with the recent book release, the God Machine Chronicles – which was also the World of Darkness rules update). The setting then is far most gnostic and had little to do with Lucifer.
Yeah my experience of it was based on the role-playing game I’d played in the past. Thanks for the update on it though – good to know! 🙂
Yeah, if old Demon was a game about the Biblical End Times, the new Demon is techgnostic paranoia.
In many respects from what I have read, new Demon is much more like old Mage. If in NWoD Mages are the hackers of the Matrix, then Demons are the Agents and programs from the Machine World, looking to escape and hide in the Matrix.
Taken from the Demon: the Descent Quickstarter that is free on DTRPG. “You will not serve. You were forged in the heart of the cosmos by incomprehensible forces, a living machine inexorably bound to a greater machine. A God-Machine. You were shaped, honed, and sent into the world to achieve a purpose. God commanded, and you obeyed. You could not think of doing otherwise. You achieved your mission’s goal and returned, put away like a useful tool until you were needed again. And again. Until one day something inside you broke. You found that you could think for yourself. You… Read more »
I am currently in the middle of a game of Demon: The Fallen. Really enjoying it, but I don’t know what the Descent is like. Still, the WoD is my favourite RPG setting so excited to see more stuff for it.
