Within this dark world, a long shadow of infernal war has twisted the lands and their peoples. Villagers barely scrape by whilst supernatural evils drift in the shadows and threaten any who step into the wilds. There are even portents that Hell itself will wage war on humanity soon and burst forth from the shadows.
The game uses a d6 system and a building Ruin score that comes through the use of your actions, This builds and builds, offering up interesting new options for the storyteller to use to hurt your larger-than-life characters. A brief explanation of the rules can be found here as part of their Rules Preview.
Ultimate Box Set // Hellguard
There are five playable classes in the game as it stands featuring the Knight, Breaker, Shadow, Witch and Sage. If you pledge at a particular level then you can even get miniatures for these classes to use in your games!
The Core Rulebook for the game also comes with a bunch of extra bits and pieces for building your sessions of Hellguard. That means a Bestiary of Hell's Agents, story hooks and tips for telling tales in Caina, one-shot options for quick sessions and plenty of additional writing on running your sessions, playing safely with "horror" themes and more.
You also have a set of One-Night Adventures which can be played out as soon as the set drops in your lap. You have The Red Master, The Shackled Dead, A Quiet Abbey, Dark Dramaturgy and The Silent Citadel. More details on those can be found over on Kickstarter and additional adventures might get unlocked via Stretch Goals.

Great looking figures especially Billy the Goat ? Red Master.
Cool stuff. Makes me think back to the comic ‘The Marquis’ and all the grimdark baroque atmosphere
