So what is Imperium Maledictum?
"Imperium Maledictum uses a familiar but refined d100 system to draw players into tales of intrigue, betrayal, and conspiracy. Players take on the role of Imperial adepts and citizens recruited by a powerful Patron. These influential figures use teams outside the usual chain of command to undertake grim and perilous missions, furthering their often inscrutable interests. To succeed, players must weave their way through the complicated web of competing factions that make up the Imperium. They must navigate a realm where a whispered accusation can be as deadly as any bolter, plumbing the depths of the most lethal hives and navigating the often far more insidious threats that grace the courts of the highborn."
Whereas Wrath & Glory is about the power fantasy of being a hulking Space Marine, blasting your way through ranks of enemies and fighting the "good" fight on the battlefields of the far future, Imperium Maledictum is about the shadowy goings-on behind the scenes. You play as unfortunate (or sometimes fortunate) members of Imperial society who have found themselves fighting for a Patron who is much a character as the one that you create to play.

You can find out more about how the game works in our Let's Play which you can watch above! Within these pages you'll find a whole host of awesome ways to bring your stories to life including a familiar d100 system that will mesh well with what you might have played before in older Warhammer 40,000 roleplaying games and Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay.

I love the desperate nature of Imperium Maledictum and how you have to actually think before you dive in and start shooting. A stray lasgun shot could spell the end of you should you be unlucky! The same goes for your enemies though and when the talking fails, you could end up just gunning your way through your foes instead!
If you want to go all out, you can also get your hands on a Gamemaster's Screen which contains all of the information you'll need in arms reach when you're in the middle of a session.

Could you be tempted to dive in and try out Imperium Maledictum? If you liked classic Warhammer 40,000 roleplaying games then I would recommend giving this one a look. The Patron system itself is awesome and I like how it becomes a cooperative storytelling exercise for you to work through before the game begins. It gives players a sense of community to latch onto AND it gives the GM something to use to punish you with later on!
Will you be diving into Imperium Maledictum?
