GF9 Go Vampire Hunting With D&D’s Rudolph & Ezmerelda
April 19, 2016 by brennon
Gale Force Nine continue to build upon their adventures at Castle Ravenloft with another set in their Collector's Series for Dungeons & Dragons. Here we have Rudolph van Richten & Ezmerelda d'Avenir who are out to bring down this foul bloodsucker...
Here we have the young hunter ready for blood and the old adventurer who might not have what it takes in a fight anymore but he certainly knows the tricks these creatures of the night will be employing against hapless humans.
Rudolph Van Richten
First up we have the old hunter...
"Van Richten isn't a young man anymore. He knows his road is coming to an end, but his work isn't done. He has come to Barovia to kill Strahd von Zarovich, the greatest vampire of them all.
Van Richten has studied Strahd for years and knows he can't hope to best the vampire in a straight-up confrontation; he must wait for the right moment to strike."
I really like this sculpt. While we have all of these dashing heroes and huge monsters its good to see the other side of the dungeon delving experience. For every Barbarian you need a Sage or Scholar to document the journey and work out the weaknesses of these great evils.
Ezmerelda d'Avenir
Now for his young protoge who had an unfortunate time of it when she first clashed with the vampire. Now she has a score to settle...
I do quite like the model here but I'm not overly convinced by the facial details. I think she looks a lot older than I assume she is meant to but otherwise the model is fantastic. I love the flowing clothing.
The choice of weapons is very awesome too with the sabre and the axe at hand. Spear them through the heart and then cut off their head.
What do you think of this pair?

Yes, I agree about the face….young is not a descriptor that I would use for it.
They both look like they have seen some action.
Unfortunately both Ezmeralda and Strahd look pretty naff. Pity, since I’m planning to run the adventure in the near future.
