Fancy being a Pixie Hero?
October 11, 2011 by brennon
Another source book for Players will be out in November from Wizards of the Coast. Prepare to get all 'Eco Warrior' in Heroes of the Feywild!
Allowing you to take on the guise of Pixies (yes pixies!) Hamadryads, and Satyrs you can really stretch your fey-side and play some interesting new characters. One of the classes already previewed is the Witch, a fey based arcane controller.
"The Feywild, also sometimes called the land of Faerie, is a place bright with magic. Those who wander its enchanted roads discover miracles and wonders undreamed of in the mortal world. In the Feywild, the laws of science, logic, and reason defer to the arts of magic, story, and rhyme. Ordinary animals and objects converse as eloquently as any worldly mortal. Enchanted forests wander across the landscape like herds of roving sheep. Glorious castles perch on mountain spires that touch the starry heavens, and a bold traveller can board a vessel to a fey palace on the moon."
Will any of you be picking up this source book?
Did anyone pick up Heroes of Shadows when it came out?

It all sounds rather cute.
A friend and I were looking at characters last night and we realised that if you made a Pixie Vampire (vampire is a class from Heroes of Shadow) you could be pretty amazingly badass. Also Pixie assassin crossed our minds lol.
I would be pretty interested in doing a Satyr character, always loved those guys with their love of drinking and other activities lol.
Character classes / races by it self does not fasilitate fun or interesting RPG sessions – As I have not seen the book I can’t say that is the case here – but I did turn cynical about this when I did see “The Complet Halfling Thief/Ranger/Necromancer” book a few years back.
I am all for explasions but not for the sake of just expanding as it used to be under TSR in bygone years
*rant off*
Well at least with 4th Edition if you don’t want the book you can always subscribe to D&DI and get the character races & classes that way.
I do like how they’ve allowed people to play these whimsical creatures. I just don’t think anyone in my group will be able to pull this off without inviting a whole slew of Black Sabbath references….and impromptu singing whenever the characters boots are mentioned.
@t9nv3 Damn you, I had it stuck in my head all the way home from work ..”… and dancing with the Dwarfs”
Product Description:
*This book enables you to take a whole new level to your characters, enabling him (or should I say her) to follow the path of the homosexual…*
”Well they do say the state of Texas doesn’t recognise Fey Marriage”
Kudos if someone knows where that quote comes from…
Ha ! I’ve seen more homosexuality in awkward “we’re just chums” paladins and priests “adventure friendships” than in those pixie gnats mushroom houses…

Playable Pixies huh? It just puts me in mind of Legend of Neil (I know, fairy, not pixie..) but you should all totally check out if you’ve never seen it. Plus, mmm, Felicia Day..
nothing can beat my d+d 3.5 gnome ninja were-badger
