Visit The Elves In Free League’s Lord Of The Rings TTRPGs

Free League Publishing has revealed two new books coming out for both of their Middle-earth roleplaying games. Both books cover the Elves of Middle-earth but serve two games. We start with Realms Of The Three Rings for The One Ring.
Realms Of The Three Rings // The One Ring
This supplement is split up into three chapters. The first Chapter explores the realms of Lórien, Rivendell and Lindon and those who live there. This includes much more detail on the Elf-lords who watch over these holdouts against Sauron's evil. The second Chapter, The Days Darken, explains how Sauron's schemes have affected the Elves with Events, Adversaries and characters for you to add to your tales.
Realms Of The Three Rings - Art // The One Ring
The third chapter explores different Landmarks that might be sites of interest for you to visit. There are locations mentioned during The Lord Of The Rings but others that have been designed specifically for the game. Finally, an Appendix covers rules for playing characters like the High Elves of Rivendell and the Elves of Lórien. You can also make Elf-lords which have been specifically designed for solo play. Fancy being your own version of Glorfindel?
The Lord Of The Rings Roleplaying
If you prefer the mechanics of Dungeons & Dragons and 5th Edition, The Lord Of The Rings Roleplaying will also be getting an Elven supplement called Keepers Of The Elven-Rings.
Keepers Of The Elven Rings // The Lord Of The Rings Roleplaying
Similarly to Realms Of The Three Rings, Keepers comes with a breakdown of the realms of Lórien, Rivendell and Lindon plus Adversaries and more. Of course, all of these are framed within the mechanics of 5th Edition and tailored so.
Keepers Of The Elven Rings - Art // The Lord Of The Rings Roleplaying
The Appendix still exists as well and has ways for you to make High Elves and Wood-Elves and ways to make Elf-lords. These are powerful characters who have been tuned for Level 20 so they can be used in epic-level campaigns of The Lord Of The Rings Roleplaying.
As someone who prefers the unique mechanics of The One Ring, I think that would be the book that I would go for. That being said, I think Free League's team has done a decent job of tuning the 5th Edition rules to suit Middle-earth so it could also be a good punt if your group prefers those mechanics. If you get a chance, I'd heartily recommend playing The One Ring though as I think it perfectly captures the vibe of Middle-earth.
Are you going to be picking up either of these books?

I do like the One Ring, but find it so difficult balancing encounters because my players have terrible dice luck. If I use the sample encounters in free league adventures the players get slaughtered. They have a knack for rolling the ‘eye’ and when it comes to my attacks… so do I… and for the GM the eye is a potential wound. First editon we played for 18 months at least and had one fatality. Another player joined the group and we switched to second edition. I think he brought a dice curse with him (he has Wil Wheaton level… Read more »
