Edge Studio Drop Update On Genesys & Twilight Imperium
August 12, 2021 by brennon
Edge Studio is slowly but surely working away at getting up and running to bring more to Genesys, the roleplaying game from Fantasy Flight Games. Their latest update talked about what they are working on for the Twilight Imperium sourcebook, Embers Of The Imperium.
Twilight Imperium: Ashes Of Power // Genesys
Embers Of The Imperium IS being worked on and will be a full sourcebook for those wanting to roleplay in the Sci-Fi world of Twilight Imperium. The pandemic has thrown things off-kilter a little but it is still coming soon. However, you are still going to be able to dive in and play roleplaying games in Twilight Imperium with the Genesys Adventure, Ashes Of Power.
Ashes Of Power is going to be released for Free RPG Day and will include simplified rules for Genesys, pre-generated characters and a full story. This means, in addition to the free dice roller app, you can play Genesys AND dive into Twilight Imperium for free. Something cool to look forward to!
Edge Studio also has more plans to expand the Genesys roleplaying game in the near future alongside supporting existing sourcebooks for Terrinoth, Android and KeyForge. Genesys is a pretty fun system to dive into and it feels like a good set of mechanics for bringing Fantasy Flight Games' worlds to life.
Are you tempted to check out this new adventure come 16th October and Free RPG Day?

I was not overly fond of the talent trees in FFG Star Wars as you always seemed to have to take a talent you didn’t want to get to something that you did want.
Presumably Genesys uses the same system as they share dice, but free is my favourite price.
Genesys uses a different Talent system from Star Wars (It’s the biggest difference I’ve seen between games). Gen uses a tiered system instead of a chart, so you can’t have more level 2 talents than level 1 talents, but you can choose from any talent you meet the prerequisites for. Hope that helps.
Sounds a good space survivalists game.
