Dr. Grordbort’s Is A Quirky New Sci-Fi RPG Coming Soon!
April 7, 2022 by brennon
Dr. Grordbort's Scientific Adventure Violence is a wild-looking new "retro-futuristic role-playing game" that is coming to Kickstarter later this year from a collaborative team of designers and artists.

Based on the artwork of Greg Broadmore from Weta Workshop, this is a wild and outlandish guide for playing out your interplanetary adventures. The art of Broadmore features throughout and the mechanics are based on the 5E system that you'll know from Dungeons & Dragons.
Inside the book, you'll find dozens of character options, exotic creatures and then of course all of the Sci-Fi/Pulp weapons, gadgets and vehicles that you'd need to populate the setting. Talking of the setting, it has been designed to be satirical and wildly odd, allowing you to experience something a bit different from the norm.
Grab New Quickstart Rules
If this has managed to capture your attention, Dr Grordbort's is available right now as a Quickstart ahead of the Kickstarter in August 2022. The collaboration between Crowbar Creative, Stardog and Exalted Funeral has put together a nice set of rules for you to dive into.

A selection of Quickstart material will be available in the run-up to the Kickstarter. The first pack contains setting information and rules alongside an adventure module to play, five pre-generated characters and loads of monsters, weapons, equipment and NPCs for you to run into.
More content will be released from April through until June and will include more adventures, more pre-generated characters and monsters. As you can see by the artwork here, the feel of the game is very much old-school Sci-Fi/Pulp adventure with a large dose of "rayguns and radiation".
I will certainly be giving this a closer look and it would be neat to see what others think about it too!
Could you be tempted by Dr Grordbort's?
