In this supplement, you'll be wandering through the Lone-lands of Eriador. Set between the Misty Mountains and the Mountains of Lune, this is a place ripe for adventure beyond the bounds of civilised places like The Shire and Bree.

Ruins Of The Lost Realm is split up into three different chapters.
- Chapter 1: Fog Over Eriador offers a description of the regions that once were part of the kingdom of Arnor, with a focus on the city of Tharbad.
- Chapter 2: A Gathering Storm provides the Loremaster with a set of narrative elements aimed at building a possible future for the land of Eriador as a whole, including the description of many looming threats, Loremaster characters and their agendas.
- Chapter 3: Landmarks adds twelve sites of interest in the style of the one presented in the core volume. These locations depict both ‘historical’ sites mentioned in The Lord of the Rings or The Hobbit, and others that have been created specifically for the game.
I do like that the book is going to be giving us more information to delve into when it comes to Arnor and those lost realms. Building on that with new characters, locations, threats and more, it seems like this could be perfect for those that want to step beyond the bounds of the Starter Set.

The Landmarks are also going to be key for those who want to offer up interesting locations for your Fellowship of friends to explore. I am fascinated to see what new locations have been created and which lands of legend from The Hobbit and The Lord Of The Rings have been picked.

This does look a good game. Im surprised the card’s arnt laminated to add up grades to the character as they progress through the game.
The cards are there for reference so it wouldn’t be needed to edit them. BUT, you could put them in card sleeves if you wanted to doodle and change things.
True true Ben.
The pre-built character sheets from the starter set are there to get you started – building your own are much more fun!
…and very easy to do!
Given the exceptionally positive experience I’ve had with Fria Ligen across several kickstarters and other releases – I’ll definitely be adding to the LOTR core book and extras from the main release. I’ve no doubt that my Bladerunner books will be arriving soon – well within the expected timeframe – just as my Alien, Vaesen, Tales from the Loop and LOTR books did as well as the Tales from the Loop boardgame. This is one of a few companies I don’t blink before backing if I like the look of it based on multiple good experiences (Shem Phillips/Garphill is another).… Read more »
