Delve Into New OSR RPG, Dragonslayer From Greg Gillespie
August 29, 2023 by brennon
Greg Gillespie, the creator of roleplaying books like Barrowmaze, Dwarrowdeep and more, is now on Kickstarter with their old-school-inspired Fantasy roleplaying game inspired by the days of OSR. Will you be taking a look at the Dragonslayer Role-Playing Game?
Dragonslayer Role-Playing Game // Greg Gillespie
Dragonslayer is a set of rules that can be used with any TSR-era edition of the most popular roleplaying game in the world (or their clones as Gillespie states). Inside the book, you'll find a whole host of content to get you started with this classic style of dungeon delver. You find chapters for Character Creation, Equipment, Spells, monsters, Treasure And Magic Items, Combat, Dungeon Exploration, Dungeon Generators, Wilderness Survival and plenty of random tables for you to roll on (always helpful!).
The rulebook is nearly complete and the aim is that you'll be able to get Dragonslayer no later than March 2024 to match with the 50th Anniversary Of Fantasy Role-Playing Games. It will also feature amazing cover art by Jeff Easley that properly captures the theme.

I really like the art style that they've gone for with Dragonslayer and it's nice to see that the classic Fantasy archetypes have been joined by the likes of a Cyclopsman! I think this is going to be a great roleplaying resource for those wanting to give a tweak to a classic set of rules.
Could you be tempted to check out Greg Gillespie's Dragonslayer?

Nostalgia is in overdrive with the Jeff Easley art. I’d just need to find a group to game with.
I like the the ‘Krull-like’ Cyclopsman. Brings back sweet memories.
I’ve always been a fan of Jeff Easley’s work!
